Event of the Day: Since the theme song of the day was "Listen to the Falling Rain" (Jose Feliciano version), it was a rest day at home. Not much to be said about the day; tried to tidy up things, tried to keep the air circulating inside the room so it didn't seem so stale, experimented with apps on the Tabbie. There was sleep involved, a little bit of Twitter - but mostly sleep and kitty maintenance stuff.

Pica's latest batch of kittens are ready for adoption. *sniffle* Ramon doesn't want to know when they go; the mere thought is reducing me to tears. Even though I know it's for the best, I will miss them so. See now, this is why anyone who loves their cat/dog who doesn't want added puppies, should have them fixed as soon as it can be managed. Giving away little ones just when you learn to love them is so very hard.

23:22 That said...when the water comes up to the floorboards of your car, a body may want to be very careful about going through. #

Event of the Day: Joining the Board of Trustees for the historical society I'm part of, on a visit to the office of the Speaker of the House at the Batasan building in Quezon City. I wanted to opt out, but since someone offered to pick me up, I found myself whisked away shortly after lunch. As usual, since I was a passenger in someone else's car, I ended up getting carsick...the aircon settings weren't as cold as I would have liked, and I couldn't very well ask for a change on my own account. Fortunately, before I went from mild to severe nausea, the driver put increased the wind speed, and I managed to get myself together by the time we arrived.

The Speaker is a very nice man. We presented our project proposal for the Kamestisuhan restoration project and he was interested enough to pledge financial support for it. *chuckle* He's interested enough to try and drum up support for us among his circle of influence, which is good.

Was informed that the Board has a meeting with Jinggoy Estrada on Monday - same thing, courtesy call/financial assist meeting. Senate offices this time, so it will be the reclaimed area and I can use my own car to get there. This pleases my hubby, as he can come along for the ride this time, and maybe I can drop him off at MOA to hang out while I'm at the Senate. Ooooh. He can go watch the movies - 20% off as a senior citizen, maybe he can try the IMAX theatre.

Life as usual when I got home: ordered food from Greenwich and had a nice dinner. Spent time online with the netbook instead of the desktop, with kittycats piled all over the bed. *grin*

16:38 Apparently I have the gift of gab; our visit to the Speaker appears to have been a success. #
20:4! 9 @Shantina15 re chris lao: i get the part where he really shouldn't have tried to drive through, #
20:51 @Shantina15 and the part where he started blaming everyone else was so not the thing. But it seems some folks are getting carried away now? #
20:54 @Shantina15 anyhow, i'm almost sure he'll never live down that video. It's on the internet for all posterity now. :) #
23:21 agree with @cleolinda that a Robin Hood movie with Orlando Bloom in it would be a movie worth waiting for. *nods* #

Event of the Day: discovering that today was the last day to register the car before being assessed penalties.

Cris, Ma's sweetheart of a physio, came today - we had to push back her usual Wednesday appointment because the cold she had managed to back up into her ear, poor baby. Before she arrived, I nipped down to Toyota Pasong Tamo to pick up the Innova's TPL insurance and certificate of cover; while Ma had her PT session, I assembled all the necessary papers for the LTO. Gee, doesn't that sound so utterly efficient? *blink*

Dropped off Cris at Alphaland. Proceeded straight down Pasong Tamo to the emission testing center, where the car passed with flying colors. Proceeded to the Makati LTO where I discovered two things. First, getting into the parking lot (the size of a postage stamp) is a damn sight easier when arriving after lunch. We even snagged a proper parking place, holy wowza.

Second, the public washroom leaves too much to be desired. The flush in the ladies' room does not work; you have to fill a pail from the faucet beside the sink and pour the contents into the bowl. I tried to fit into the cubicle, but...um...there was no room for me to maneuver to get the door closed? I dropped four inches from my waistline this year, I know I can't possibly be so fat that a cubicle door wouldn't close. As in, if I had shut the door, I couldn't look down to undo my pants, W.T.F. to the nth power.

Thank heavens that the actual process of getting the car registered was a mere 40 minutes. Plus, it was more breezy in the waiting area, with fewer people about. I now know the best time to appear at the LTO for next year's process!

Then off to see Rise of the Planet of the Apes at Glorietta 4. We caught the 3.10pm showing. I dropped Ramon off at the ground floor entrance so he could get the tickets while I parked the car. He had a quick lunch of sizzling bangus while I bought a Swiss Mushroom burger meal at Burger King. Settled into our seats in good time, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at the movies.

I will say this much: I've always been partial to Tom Felton from the Harry Potter movies, so when I initially discovered he was part of this one, my fox-ears popped up in interest. Not to spoil anyone, but he does well - very well - and don't judge me, but I think he steals the movie from James Franco. So there. *nods* In any event, I just couldn't seem to sympathize overly much with Franco's character throughout the movie. As I described it to a friend who will be seeing it over the weekend: "It has Plot! It has Action! It has a WHOA THERE moment! It has a FUCK YEAH! moment! Totes worth the price of admission."

*grin*

Ate dinner at the Food Court so that Ramon could rest up once we got home. Which he did; I took over feeding the cats their evening snack and locking up the gates while he dozed off. On Sunday we have plans to watch Captain America, which means an early trip to Mercury Forbes so we can catch the first showing at Cash and Carry. We'll see how things work out from there.
