Event of the Day: Rest and lots of it. No need to go out, having done all the outside business the day before, and so had the luxury, more or less, of sleeping in a few hours beyond the time I've been waking up. Which is to say, instead of getting up at 8am in order to catch business hours that start at 10am, I got up at 7am, fed cats, had some Campbell's Cup Soup, and then back to sleep at 8am to wake up at 10am. *grin* Truth be told, office hours begin at 9am - which is when the doors open. But it's my observation that people are at their best by 10am, most times - and it's easier leaving the house a little later.
In any case, there was sleeping, and some tidying up, and quite a bit of catching up on things. Learned to keep away from Tabbie (aka the Samsung Galaxy Tablet phone) in order to get things done. Learned that some stuff needed tweaking for it to work properly. Decided to have a nap in favor of putting away the clean laundry, and when I woke up, started following the soccer match between the Philippine Azkals and Sri Lanka. The last I heard, we needed a scoreless draw to advance into the next round of the World Cup qualifiers (dear heaven, Philippines and the World Cup in the same breath, the mind boggles).
The Philippines went on a bit of a scoring rampage and won 4-0. Which is, to my mind, quite a feat. It is to be hoped that when we go up against Kuwait, both games will have a similarly happy ending.
The Azkals' victory started a lot of wishful thinking about support for other athletics, like our Dragon Boat team (champions, but now without money), our rugby team (yes, we do have one, and they also have no money), and some other unconventional sports. I would be happy to see our women's volleyball team put on a little weight, that's no lie.
Today marked the day I could sit back and realize that everything important that was lost in my handbag, has now been replaced. Definitely a good day.
