Tweak Out

That could very well be the theme of today, our 19th wedding anniversary. *grin* After yesterday's busy day - we got home at around 10pm after the anticipated misa de gallo, to the everlasting joy of the kittycats - hubby and I were content to spend today indoors. I rose at a scandalous (to Q-bie the Kitty, anyway) hour, had breakfast with hubby, received well wishes from parents, and promptly settled in front of the netbook, to see if I couldn't sort things around to make them work better.

I think it was the impending, and now averted, demise of Delicious that started it all. Not that I use the service, but somewhere in all the wailing and lamentation, I did hear that Yahoo!Bookmarks might be on its way out, and *that* service, I do indeed use. So, I backed up my wee collection of bookmarks from there, and from Google Bookmarks as well (it doesn't support Opera anyway, so meh) and have imported the Yahoo bunch into Diigo. One can never have enough backups of bookmarks, just saying.

From there, I had a vague feeling of discontent about how I was publishing stuff to the various social networks I am on, which led to my trying to rearrange things between FriendFeed, Ping.FM, hellotxt, and twitterfeed. Ended up removing all the services I attached to FriendFeed; am keeping the account to keep an eye on friends' posts. Rearranged things on Ping.fm, hellotxt, and twitterfeed; no doubt I have spammed my Twitter followers to within an inch of exasperation making test posts. Learned quite a few things in the process, and I think everything will work nicely now.

Just finished catching up with LiveJournal, so I think I can say that I am current on practically everything now. Need to take another look at my feed subscriptions, then maybe I'll have time to track Twitter. So, yeah.

Monday's going to be pretty busy chez moi - termite inspection (my sweet Lord, must set aside tip money, I don't think I did, eeeee), maintenance crew is coming over for their presents, the old washing machine will finally be taken away after nearly 28 years of service. Tomorrow will be somewhat less busy; the usual run for groceries and medicines for hubby.

That's about it for now. Catch y'all when I have the brain power to come up with a coherent post. Happy holidays!

Thank you! Isn't an interesting way to begin Christmas week? In our family, we begin with our wedding anniversary, then comes the parents' wedding anniversary on the 22nd (SIXTY ONE FREAKING YEARS I DON'T EVEN KNOW), and my birthday on the 25th crowns it all.

Then a week later, it's New Year's Eve. Phwoar!

Thank you! Interestingly enough, it's this event that signals the true start of Christmas festivity in our household. Just one week before Christmas Day - my birthday!

*hugs you*
