Say what, again?

OK. Maybe it's a last quarter kind of thing, but there's stuff that's been flitting across my radar and I want to randomly share before I get to bed.

a) Tony Curtis, RIP - One of my favorite TV series was called "The Persuaders!" It had Tony as a self-made millionaire from the States, and Roger Moore as inherited wealth of ages from Britain. Together they fight crime! *grin* I strongly recommend that anyone who has the chance, should check out Tony alongside Yul Brynner in "Taras Bulba" and with Jack Lemmon in "Some Like It Hot".

b) Steven J. Cannell, RIP - The Rockford Files. The A-Team. Baa Baa Black Sheep. Adam-12. Hunter. Baretta. The Greatest American Hero. 21 Jump Street. These were the TV series that defined my tween and high school years, and now I think about it, there have been precious few series that I followed with the same devotion as I did the ones I just mentioned, except the last two; never really got into them (even though my class was vaporing over Johnny Depp, even then). I know there's some Baa Baa Black Sheep fanfic in a bin somewhere in my house, handwritten and the main reason for my writer's callous.

c) Don Lemon, the CNN anchor, revealed on live TV, that he was a pedophile's victim. Kudos to him for letting the words get out of his mouth - it takes guts to do that, man.

d) Jon Klein left CNN. OK, hopefully this means nothing but good for the programming/direction of CNN US? There are those who believe that every miserable decision ever implemented by CNN on its US programming can be nailed to Klein's door.

e) CNN FIRED RICK SANCHEZ. *blinks* I don't even know, people. And he got fired for comments made about Jon Stewart, I believe. Go Google it, people, it is midnight now and I can't be arsed to do it at the moment. :) But wow.

f) Anderson Cooper makes a deal for a morning talk show. *blinks* Well, it will play to his strength in interviewing, I suppose. And speaking of Cooper, I all but died laughing when he showed the Cebu Pacific dancing flight attendants as The Shot of the day. I was fascinated by the story of the fake "Anderson Cooper" scamming a Pinay with a Nigerian (?) boyfriend, then wanted to bop him with a pillow when he displayed a quote in Tagalog onscreen while freely admitting he couldn't understand a word and had it up because it looked funny. JUST YOU WAIT TILL I RUN INTO YOU IN MANILA, COOPER! *evil grin*

That will have to do you for now. Gotta close up for the night, Ramon has blood extraction tomorrow.

And Kris Aquino is leaving Win na Win. I'm in good company. XP

Re Kris Aquino's departure from Win na Win: *happy dance* *evil grin*

He apparently got fired for putting down the people who run his own network. You can't bite the hand that feeds you and expect to stay there.

This is the guy who volunteered to be tasered at some point in his career. Surely the experience shorted something in his brain if he was going to spout something like that.

I'd head about Tony Curtis but not Stephen Cannell. Damn. I liked his shows, and I was a fan of the Persuaders too.

Quite a few of my fanfic drabbles revolved around Cannell shows. I have the callous to prove it, if not the drabbles, which I burnt in a fit of pique at my writing.

Cannell was isn't involved w/ Adam-12. That was Jack Webb's baby, spun off from "Dragnet".

Do you remember "Hardcastle and Mccormack" and "Tenspped and Brownshoe"? both were shows he created in the early 80s. The Former starred Brian "Family Affair" Keith while the latter paired the odd couple of Ben Vereen and a young Jeff Goldblum.

"Hardcastle and McCormack" I remember - but not the other. As for the idea of Ben Vereen and Jeff Goldblum together in a series...wow.
