Gratification
...in the form of a nap on a beautifully quiet and lazy Monday afternoon after a hard rain last night, will be a while in coming. Quite a few interesting events on my calendar this past week, and general busyness.
Father went in for monthly cardio appointment. As per advice, husband felt well enough to skip this month as well as last month's appointment - for which we give thanks! However, blood test before mandatory September appointment is a necessity. Blood don't lie, to paraphrase the Shakira song. *grin*
Trisha the Distractible Maid took time off to attend a cousin's wedding in Mariveles. Ma sent her off with a rice cooker for the newlyweds on Saturday. The mother of all rains came down on Saturday night and nearly all through Sunday. Maid still has to show up, and it is 2.35pm on Monday. Ehem! If she doesn't arrive by tonight, then it is highly likely that a new maid will be taking up residence in our home. *shrug*
Money came in from various sources, and 10% from each source has been combined into my rainy-day fund. It's a relieving thing to look at one's finances and realize that one might actually make it through the year after all.
I don't know if I mentioned anywhere before that I finally got down to Central Market and bought shorts and blouses and dress pants and dusters? Almost sure that I did, but if not, then the omission is herewith rectified. I like the notion that I've got a "suki" with quality stuff that I like.
Tried out a new litter called Kitty's Crumble (am also almost sure I metioned this before), made out of coconut husk. Kitties have adapted to the new material, though I still have a couple of finicky ones that need a half-n-half mix of clay and coir. Will look for a medium bag of non-clumping litter as a result, to sprinkle on top of the coir. Still, the litter pans are MUCH lighter than they used to be, and this is good. Even better - it seems that this Kitty's Crumble stuff is also known as coco peat, which is sold by the brick at Ace Hardware. I've got to go check this out and see if I can save a few bucks in the process. Yayz!
OK. I'm off to at least a 30-minute nap. I just remembered that there's one litter pan that has yet to be switched over to the new litter material - later.
