"A three-patch problem" indeed!

Oh, good grief, if those two aren't, then they should be - the episode
just *reeks* of it.

Poor Watson! Thrown in at the deep end and learning to swim in
strange waters. He's doing just fine, though.

Lestrade is positively handsome compared to the Canon description.
Which pleases me fine, no doubt about it. The writers transferred his
obnoxious attitude to Donovan, who got my hackles up from the moment
she talked to Holmes.

The guy with the rolled-up brolly, Guards-style...surely that's not
the mathematics professor? This series is going to be very
interesting!

Was it in Silver Blaze or The Blue Carbuncle that Holmes
does the whole profiling of Watson's brother just by holding his
pocket watch? (Modern equivalent=cell phone) His clinical description
of poor Watson's brother hit too close to home, but if I remember,
Holmes did apologize handsomely afterward.

Whee! Awesome!

I watched this the other night and fell in love with it instantly. I quite agree with your first paragraph - it does reek of it doesn't it? and that conversation about girlfriends and boyfriends and people constantly asking if they are together.

I'm hanging out for the next episode.

I simply could *not* stop chortling through the whole thing - and even though I spotted the perp from 300 miles away, it didn't detract from my enjoyment.

Oh, Watson...oh, WATSON! *wibble* I loved how the ending played out, and the look on Holmes' face when he realized whom he was profiling...*squee*

Um. Definitely hanging out for the rest of it.

I loved that bit when Holmes realised who he was profiling. It was brilliant.

I'm ashamed to say I haven't read much in the way of the original Sherlock Holmes so a lot of what you're picking up on which parallels it, I'm probably missing.
dreamlessness: (sanji says HEE)

i am going to need an icon from this series soon enough

i suspect moffat split up the whole of doyle's scotland yard between donovan (perceptive, but grating), anderson (arrogant but dumb) and lestrade (unconventional but driven), and i like how that is. more characters to look forward to!

for the record i had to pause in the middle of the show to breathe and squee a bit too :D

oh ps: it was in the sign of four. the brother profiling, that is :)

*totally, TOTALLY agrees with your subject line*

Yay! Thanks for clearing that up, about the brother profiling. I loved what Moffat did with that, didn't you? *evil chuckles*

I wonder if we'll get to see a take on "The Three Garridebs". *wibble* There is a certain scene there that will have fangirls swooning, I'm thinking.

Oh, my sweet Lord, MYCROFT. MYCROFT! *dies of kilig* That dig by Sherlock about his brother gaining weight made me hit the pause button and smother my laughter in a pillow.

*glee*

I just watched this today and I am also in love! I can't decide if I like Watson or Mycroft best (Holmes I just want to slap most of the time) but Holmes would def make an awesome Doctor when he's a bit older. Cannot wait to watch the rest!
