So here I am, tapping out a decent blog entry - or attempting to do so
- as opposed to letting my Friends List endure another round of
tweets. Haven't been tweeting much either, come to think of it. Um.

July is ending in a matter of days, and there's a sense of things
settling down and chapters closing.

The new cook can actually cook, and it is once again a pleasure to buy
ingredients at the supermarket. Tomorrow Dad does the early-morning
run for fish and veggies; later, Ramon and I will be out to refill his
prescriptions and get whatever veggies were not available in the wet
market, along with other dry goods. Sunday brunch, of course, at one
of our preferred food outlets. We rotate between Luk Yuen (with
newspapers to read, but limited menu), Teriyaki Boy, and Sizzler (no
newspapers, but big servings).

Now that the household situation appears to have resolved itself in a
favorable manner, I have been paying back my sleep debt with regular
naps. Now that we've had a typhoon come and go, my skin rashes have
also subsided, which is an immense relief. It's interesting - I seem
to have been living tied up in knots for so long, that adjusting to
"normalcy" has me staring off into space sometimes.

When I'm not staring into space, though, I'm making myself do the
things I used to do, or planned on doing, before our domestic
arrangements went into sixes and sevens. Let's see...I reorganized my
bed linens cabinet. I got a bunch of these folding boxes from Daiso,
with clear plastic tops and cloth-like sides for that. My pillowcases
are sorted by colors and the bedsheets by flat or fitted. MUCH
LIGHTER to handle now, even if there are six of these organizers in
the cabinet instead of the two collapsible boxes, as new organizers
weigh next to nothing. Plus, the linens are adequately dust- and
kitteh-proofed (kittehs lurve to pounce on the clean iinens, oh yes
they do) now.

It's a tie as to whether I will inventory our Christmas stash for the
maintenance crew first, or continue the organization of the video
library. Or, start burning off files from the DVR from last June
*facepalm* -- most likely the inventory bit first. Tomorrow, need to
inventory Ramon's prescriptions and see which pills he needs for the
week. The change in weather is also helping him sleep, poor man, it
seems almost a shame to wake him up from his afternoon naps so he can
have dinner.

Kittens are flourishing, including Q-bie, who looks like he's going to
need Gentamycin on his poor wee eye. We'll need to wrap him up before
giving the meds, though - he is a strong little thing, and his wails
when the eye wash is administered are heartbreaking. Lord only knows
how he will sound with the Gentamycin. Still, the eye doesn't look too
awful, and he cuddles up to us after the whole ordeal is over, so it's
good. My puir wee baby...*sigh*

We had the maintenance crew in to check the plumbing on at least four
different occasions this week - all in different parts of the house.
Needed to replace a valve in the terrace area, the kitchen faucet, the
pipe joint of the faucet beside the generator. Then I figured as long
as I had the guys, the insect killer lamps needed cleaning, so...yeah.
Not bad for a week's worth of visits.

Dad had his 87th birthday last Wednesday. Hurrah! It was a quiet
celebration - lunch at Sizzling Pepper Steak at Alphaland, then the
parents spent time together at the hair salon while I flitted all over
the place. Whee! Ordered Amber's Pancit Malabon for dinner, and
Makati City Hall sent the traditional birthday cake. Yum!

My writing mojo is somewhat...constipated. It's there, but it just
doesn't seem to want to move. Am relaxing and writing drivel in the
meantime. Any writing is a good thing at this point. *chuckle*

Running out of things to say, so I'll stop here. More news as it can
be managed.

Same here about staring off into space. I remembered I wanted to put plastic covers on books. Same here about neglected dvd reorganization.

Qbie's ordeal makes me grateful Dewey's wasnt that bad.

Speaking of constipation, I saw KY lube in Mercury shelves. Didnt think it was that accessible.

Hahaha...I always used to see KY in Mercury way back when. Ramon and I used to get a kick from the instruction: "apply liberally to nozzle" *snerk*

Of course, the KY was displayed on the lower shelves, or waaaaay in the back of the general remedies shelves. Now, it's at eye level, along with a host of new lubricants. That's how you know which products are being pushed by your local grocery - they are always at eye-level. :)

Qbie is our baby, no two ways about it. :) He'll be fine and a lady-killer before we know it.
