I started out the day with the good intention of working on a writing
assignment, but I got sidetracked by household cares. Anyone who
dares dismiss the lot of stay-at-home wives in general and working
mothers in particular, send them to me. I will soundly box them round
the ears with The Feather Duster Of Doom (TM).

Am short on vitamins because I keep forgetting to take them. Am long
on hormones because my cycle is due any day now. Today, fortunately,
not so much with the skin rashes, because it deigned to rain and I've
been in front of the electric fan most of the morning. The domestic
situation is more or less settled, after various kerfluffles that I
would prefer to leave in the past.

Pica's kittens and the rescue kittens have integrated into a
thundering horde every morning. They've set up a routine whereby they
are out the kitchen door at five a.m. when Ramon opens the house, and
then return to the kitchen for snacks and their morning nap by around
eight a.m. I have to set up an appointment with Pica at the vet for
spaying, because she's started sounding the booty call...and we can't
have any more kittens about. We'll probably bring her on Saturday,
because:

a) It's the monthly cardio check-up tomorrow. Just Dad this time. :)
As per Dr. Gatmaitan's recommendation. Ramon can afford to skip one,
or even two months, as long as he's feeling fine and taking his
medicines like he ought to. Ramon appears to be fine, and so that's a
savings of $$ right there. We live in hope, as always, that somehow
things will work out for the better. Certainly Ramon is happier at
the prospect of blood extractions every two months!

b) Because I and the menfolk will be out of the house on Tuesday, Ma's
physio has to be reset for the next day and Friday. So that pretty
much leaves Thursday or Saturday, but Thursday feels too soon to be
traipsing out of the house with Pica.

I made soup for lunch. Ground chicken that's been sitting in the
freezer for a good while; a can of creamed corn that's been sitting in
the cabinet for a good while; garlic (six cloves), one smallish onion,
half a pack of frozen mixed veggies, and a packet of instant Chinese
soup - the chicken and corn version. A little salt, a little sesame
oil, and we ought to be good to go later.

I found an adobo recipe that I'm raring to try; it requires
slow-cooking, and I have a slow-cooker, and hubby and I LOVE our
adobo. Will have to halve the recipe, though; Ma will taste the adobo
sauce, maybe Dad will have a nibble. *cue tummy growl*

The sky just clouded over, and i hear the rumble of thunder in the
distance. It's nearly lunch, so I'm off to see what needs to be done.
Back later, if I'm not too zombified.

Indeed there is such a thing! Check out the Magnolia Chicken Station at your preferred supermarket - or Bounty Fresh, they have it too.

Am thinking of making giniling using chicken lumpia shanghai mix...that should provide interesting results. :)
