Cautiously optimistic

Well. Got an early start to the day by letting out all the kittens
(even Quattro, under strict supervision) into the laundry area to work
off their energy. Little Quattro was run over by his older mates
every five seconds - no sooner did he right himself after one tumble,
than another kitten would mow him down from the opposite direction.
After about five minutes of this, he toddled over to me and gave me
his "Mama help me...?" face, resulting in his being picked up and
settled in my lap while I sorted out the laundry. Didn't stay in my
lap long, though - he toddled cautiously along the bench and watched
the rampaging horde from a safe distance; that is, until the horde
began rampaging over the bench, at which point Q-bie toddled
post-haste back into my lap. Poor sweetie!

Ramon says, give the laddie a week, and he'll be thundering along with
the rest of the horde. Heh, must remember to keep vidicam batteries
charged for that eventuality. :)

Let's see. Managed to work a nap into my schedule after breakfast and
catching up with online stuff. It was a good long nap, and
contributed greatly to my fairly beneficent outlook on life for the
rest of the day. Woke up in time for lunch. Afterwards, updated my
list of torrents and the tracker matrix of episodes of series I've
downloaded. So far, so good.

The new water dispenser we got yesterday is working like a charm, and
for less electricity, too. Have gotten into the habit of clearing the
table after meals. I cannot abide just leaving all the dirty dishes
on the table while the maids take their sweet time eating their lunch
(when one of them could at least clear the table before going to eat
lunch, only takes about five minutes, tops). Being a subscriber to
the idea that it's easier to do things than waste one's breath, I
ready the plates for washing-up. I also check the dish racks at
night, to see what can be put away, which is usually the entire
evening's wash-up. It's also a good time to check the spoons, forks,
knives, etc. At this very moment, the kitchen is spotless and
everything in its place, which is quite soothing to my harassed soul.

Sleepy now. My biorhythms have changed: since I'm wide awake now in
the early hours of morning, I find myself yawning by ten at night.
Guess it's time to sign off.

Poor Quattro! I should have guessed he'd be the sensitive one.

I don't suppose it would surprise you if I said that Primus and Secundus (aka Siggy) are the ringleaders of the thundering horde? *grin* They are always at the forefront of every charge around the corner of the house - the starting point is the water heater where we can't seen them, and then suddenly...whoosh!

Six kittens charging down the steps from the back garden to the laundry area is a sight to behold at six in the morning, let me tell you. *huge grin*

Btw, I saw a new "organic" litter called Kitty Crumble. It's supposed to be environmentally friendly.
