[Recap Post] April 28, 2010/Wednesday
Woke up with the headache from hell. Another busy day ahead, although
Ramon and I got out of the house after lunch, since Dad took the
non-color-coded car (the Innova) for his haircut and to top up the gas
(don't know if he checked the tires, though).

- The kittens have settled into a routine now, and know when I'm up
and about - they are strident in their demands, and are experimenting
with the eating of solid food. This is a good thing; although at one
point, I looked at the one sweet face while it was feeding and
promptly burst into tears at the notion of letting them go to the
shelter. *sigh* I mean, they'll be all used to the attention they're
getting, and then they'll be transferred to a place where they'll be
cared for, but not on a one-to-one basis. On the other hand, I can't
adopt them, nor can I foster them indefinitely. So yeah...to whoever
thought it would be a good idea to toss these darlings into the
street, YOU ARE A TURD AND I HOPE KARMA BITES YOU. - After lunch, Ramon and I set out for the Alphaland South Mall,
where we had several things scheduled.- First, a visit to the dentist, for long overdue dental
maintenance. As expected, my gums bled with great enthusiasm. As
expected, the hole in my bicuspid was caused by a filling dropping
out; a filling that replaced an older filling that also dropped out.
There was an x-ray, a new filling (though the tooth is under
observation, as one edge of the filling runs perilously close to the
root), and the oral prophylaxis. Ramon also had a tooth pasted up,
and the whole thing, now I come to think of it, seems to have cost far
less than it would have at my previous dental clinic. So that was a
good thing. - After the dentist, it was time to celebrate at Tapa King, whose
food I have always loved. Ramon and I both ordered the original Tapa
King variant, with a mutual agreement to visit again and try out the
other combos in future. - Then we did some browsing through the BookSale branch. I left
Ramon there and went upstairs to have my hair cut, in what I call
"stress management". *grin* Unfortunately, I think I have the kind of
brain config that is affected by barometric pressure or whatever - if
it's too hot, I have huge headaches. - The Bench Fix Salon in Alphaland is nice. Of course, that opinion
may be colored by the fact that the place was practically empty - and
I like empty salons, as a rule. I don't care how full it gets after
I'm done, just as long as it's reasonably empty while I'm there.
Junie the Stylist did my hair, and I must say I am pleased with the
results. Rannie the Assistant encouraged me to come back and let him
shampoo my hair, for an unforgettable experience. *chuckle* I'm
about halfway to letting him do a hot oil number on my hair, just to
see how that goes. In short, a very satisfying was had. - Ramon fetched me from the salon, and together we went down to the
Super 8 Grocery to pick up my loyalty card. My S&R card lapsed last
April 25th, and since I've not set foot in the place since forever
(since even before it closed the first time), I saw no reason to renew
it. As anyone who's read my blog knows, Cash and Carry is my mall of
choice; with SM and Market!Market! close behind.- Presented my temporary card and got my permanent one. Asked about
the SMS I received to prepare a copy of my ID and an authorization
letter, since the card was to be delivered to the house, and the
customer rep said that per the card's issuing bank (Unionbank), said
SMS was bogus, not from them. - Turned to Ramon and said, that that begs the question of who sent
out the SMS (and it happened to a lot of card holders). I mean, if
the bank didn't send the SMS, who got into the database with the phone
numbers to send it? Much clucking ensued - Went into the grocery to buy Bactidol (recommended by dentist) and
baby formula (for the kittens, as KMR is far too expensive and not
sold in the small quantity that I need). Used new loyalty card (a
Visa electronic) without incident, and it was away home

- The nicest thing about Alphaland is its proximity to my house. In
a year or two, it's going to be easily a favorite stop, given that it
has some of my favorite food outlets, a Generics Pharmacy, hair
salons, a spa, a dentist, a CD-R King, a Japan Home Center, and so on.
Still have to try the food court, too. - Home to kittens and family and the incredible debilitating heat of
it all. Kittens fed well, I barely managed to catch up with all the
online stuff, then it was off to bed.
