My friends Plurked about this. It makes me sick that people would do something like that. It's stupid, insensitive and is just wrong.

I talked this over with my Ma, who is conservative in outlook for the most part, and she was shocked and outraged. Her take on it was along the line of "Whatever they were, you don't treat people, even more the elderly, that way - and why all the sudden interest in their private lives now that one was in hospital? Why did they ignore the legal documents naming the person to call in case of emergency?" and so on.

It boggles the mind, this story. I have to go check the link and see what's developed since the time I posted the link.
