Holy Wednesday
Opened my Bible for the first time in *ages* Maybe I should have done
it on Ash Wednesday, then the reading habit would have been
well-ingrained in me by now. Be that as it may, it was good to read
familiar text, and do some thinking about the words.
I find it chuckle-worthy that April Fools' this year falls right on
Holy Thursday. The cyber-pranks may be out in full-force, but perhaps
the practical jokes (especially the ones where you are asked to "lend"
money that will never come back) may be mitigated by the solemnity of
the day. On the other hand, those who are going on vacation, or those
already at their location of choice for the four-day weekend, may
succumb to some hijinks.
Personally, I don't think the Lord will mind, not unless the pranks
cause bodily harm or emotional scarring.
Today doesn't have much of note to talk about. Not unless you count
the nap I took after lunch, because I could barely keep my eyes open.
I phone paid the two bills with the earliest due dates. I put fresh
linens on the bed, and new pillowcases after having the mattress air
out for two days. I ran my hard drive backup programs on both the
laptop and the nettop. Made some progress with Sailing to
Sarantium, not as much progress with the fic writing, though now I
do have an opening sentence for the next chapter of Kuruda
Return, my Shadow Skill fic. Changed layouts on LJ and Twitter
and Gmail.
