An offer I couldn't refuse

*chuckle* Have just come from family HBO movie time, in which I
introduced Ma to the pleasure that is watching "The Godfather II".
What a pity that Ramon didn't mention he was watching "The Godfather",
which had been showing before that, or I'd have had Ma rewatch that as
well. I swear, those two movies will forever be among my favorites,
especially the first one.

I told my hubby, "It's so nice when you come across a movie based on
the book, and you can see evidence of the written manuscript that the
film was based on. Some movies make you go, 'where is the book in all
this'?" I mean, yes, sometimes you have to tweak the book to make it
a credible film. After all, the first two Godfather movies are taken
from one book, so there's a perfect example. But then you run into a
movie that says it was based on the book, and the only thing in which
it resembles the book are the names of the characters and not much
else.

Ok, granted, it was based on a book - the equivocation lies in how
loosely it was based on the book, I suppose.

Not a lot of writing today, but quite a bit of reading. I did manage
to take lots of notes on a plot bunny that popped into my head,
though, and this was good. Otherwise, life as usual. Not bad for a
Saturday, not bad at all.
