Gradually sharpening focus, one hairline at a time.
Random thoughts, since today was pretty much an ordinary day. The schedule
I had planned for today, except for the one item, shifted itself to
tomorrow, with some revisions. So what else is new? If nothing else, I
have learned to roll with the punches, even if I get all mixed up by them.
Ma was supposed to have physical therapy today, but the PT sent an SMS to
ask if we could shift the session to tomorrow, because she was having an
allergy attack. Well, we love our sweet little PT, so of course we said we
could shift the schedule.
Dad mumbled something about taking the car out to the gas station, and so
instead of bringing Ramon to the LTO for his driver's license renewal like I
thought I could after paying Metrobank, we came straight home - and then Dad
asked if I had topped up the car. *facepalm*
Then cousin from States called up, asking if I could pass by his bank in
Bel-Air to pick up some forms so that his dormant account could be revived.
Now, honestly. The man *knows* he has money in a Philippine account,
surely depositing USD5 every other month to keep it alive wouldn't be such a
bother, would it? Especially since he's designated me as the point person
to do the depositing. *shrug* Whatever.
And THEN I remembered that tomorrow is hubby's birthday. *dies* Will have a
simple sort of celebration - the Amber's palabok that Ramon likes so much;
the barangay has sent over its customary cake for the senior citizen, and he
can have a very thin slice, without icing. I look at him these days, and my
heart gets this odd little pang, grateful at how far he has come since we
first met, and all the events after that. God is merciful, that much is
certain.
Which means that tomorrow, I drop Ramon as early as I can at the LTO at the
MRT Ayala Station - go to Metrobank Jupiter to pick up bank forms - come
home to babysit Ma through her PT - mail the forms out to Ben at the Village
post office. Order the Amber's pancit, then life, I trust, will go on as
usual.

Have been doing quite the bit of writing - posted a new chapter of the
Shadow Skill/Fort Lyvalle AU up on MM.org and FF.net. Oh, the fits I had
posting to MediaMiner - until I discovered the advice in the forums to use
Times Roman 12, minimum, for the text font of any Word file that goes up on
MM.org. That certainly saved my equilibrium, since I couldn't figure why
for the life of me all the previous seven (yes, SEVEN) chapters had uploaded
without incident. Ay, me! So onwards to the next chapter.
I must say that FF.net's statistics monitor is an addicting thing to watch.
:p It's checking on stuff like that, that blocks my writing, since I then
tend to write what I think the visitors would want, instead of following
through with the scenes as I originally envisioned them. So I try not to let
that influence me by not checking until a new chapter goes up, and I have a
reason to visit that area.
Cleaned out any number of people following my Plurk account. Sorry, but
anyone who signed up in 2009 and hasn't plurked till today, I'm not keeping
you.
Resumed knitting today. *beams* Frogged current project for the umpteenth
time and started over, only this time in slow motion; and I must say it was
really sweet to see how much ground I made up by the time I put the needles
down. Now, all I need is my line marker/magnifier that's sitting in my
cross-stitch box, and I'll really be good to go.
Read some old books, or rather, opened old books at random and started
reading from wherever page presented itself for inspection.
Made excellent progress on downloading Spartacus. At some point, I will
marathon the thing. I've sneaked a peek at some of the scenes - the slo-mo
dance of doom makes 300 look like a Sunday picnic. Blood and gore and
amputations everywhere. Butts and wangs in splendid array in the later
installments, or so I am assured. *huge ebil grin*
Feeling more at home with myself now, and less exhausted, physically and
mentally, than I was feeling some months ago. it's been shaping up
gradually over the days, ever since I promised myself that I would start
taking better care of myself. Granted, I still have some sticky wickets
hanging about, but that's what life is about, can't have perfection
overnight.
Will stop here. Am interested to see how this post will work out in the
posting, given the codes for breaks that I've stuck in it. Ciao!
