Enough hours in a day
Today started pretty early, since I needed to get Ramon to the hospital for
his fasting blood sugar exam. We were out of the house by 7am, and done
with the necessary stuff by 8am. Had a lovely omelet breakfast at Floating
Island; the omelet was of the ham, mushroom and cheese variety and very
tasty. Capped the meal with coffee from Lavazza, and then on to the next
stop in our itinerary.
From Makati Med, we made our way to the Cristina Condominium, where the
Women of Malolos (aka WOMFI) holds office. They're the organization of
which I am somehow a trustee, and the moving force behind the fashion show
last February 22nd. Today was a WOMFI Board meeting day, where we evaluated
how the fashion went, as far as generating interest was concerned. The
general consensus is that we have "waked up" any number of people about the
restoration project, and apparently some calls have already been coming in.
This bodes well, but we must strike while the irons are hot - to which end
I have been tasked with the creation of a press kit, said kit to include a
slideshow presentation.
I'm ok with taking on the slideshow, but PowerPoint is said to be tacky
these days? So the slides will do for the moment while I check out my Linux
software for something that can do the job. Pretty sure there has to be one
- the music conversion programs certainly did their job in WOMFI's hour of
need. *grin*

During the meeting, Ramon took himself off to Makati Cinema Square, where I
presume he enjoyed himself mightily. I told him to get his own lunch, as
WOMFI had ordered take-out from Jollibee and I was no longer hungry. Picked
him up at the back of Makati Cinema, then we paid a flying visit to
Greenbelt 5 so that I could get Mama's vitamins from Healthy Options. I
still feel a bit "meh" at having to pay Php45 for a visit of not even an
hour...however, the highlight of my day was seeing the absolutely exquisite
six-month-old pussycat being played with by the staff of Bow&Wow. I
literally stopped dead in the hallway to squee in wild abandon until Ramon
opened the door so we could get a closer look. Of course you know that my
squeeing instantly went into mute mode, so as not to frighten the sweet
creature.

Cash and Carry next. The usual rounds: The French Baker, to pick up garlic
bread and small ciabbatta (sp?).
Mercury Drug and The Generics Pharmacy next, to pick up Ramon's medicines.
Mercury C&C has a cheaper form of Carvedilol than our usual Mercury branch,
so that's where we buy it.
CD-R King for a headset for Ramon. When we got home, I rigged a setup by
which he can now happily listen to the TV at the volume he likes, without
letting the whole house know what he's watching. Since he has a tendency to
watch action movies, you can see how necessary headphones are to domestic
felicity. *grin*
Then Big Apple Spa for my weekly scalp massage. They now offer mani/pedi
services, so my life is now complete - I've been wishing they'd do that for
a very long time now!
Groceries next. Whiskas brought back the Mackarel/Salmon pouch flavor, I
was pleased to note. Got everything on the list except for Campbell's
Instant Cup Soup, which I seem to find only at SM Supermarket. So someday I
should drop by the SM Hypermarket beside Cash, and see if they can match the
services I already know and love. Either that, or pop into the SM Makati
Supermarket the next time I happen to be in Glorietta.

Last stop was Mercury Santuario to complete the list of Ramon's medicines.
Crowded parking today - someone must have been getting married. Then
finally, home, and some sort of crash period when all the tiredness I didn't
feel while out, suddenly came over me like a tidal wave.
Life continued as usual. Cats fed, dinner, a little TV, evening shower.
Should check on who's outside in a quarter-hour; see who wants to stay
inside for the night (as well as pick up the one Mama insists should spend
the night indoors).

Today I did something that I haven't done for a very long, long, LONG time.
I wrote down chapter summaries of the WIP I'm chipping away at; and
actually wrote a passable continuation outline. *bounces happily* Put down
notes to myself for consistency's sake - it was like a literal flushing of
things sitting on hold in my brains. Now to keep reminding myself that I'm
writing for myself first, when I get down to untangling my trains of thought
on paper!
