So this is what leisure feels like

*grin*

Not much out of the ordinary today. Phone paid several bills, and will let
the financial chips fall where they may. Better than worrying, which is the
generation of negative energy that I don't need right now. Ma had her
physical therapy, and is improving at a steady rate.

Copied over the entire Shadow Skill anime series into my hard drive. The
episodes are all in FLV format, so they're not taking up much space. Have
been reviewing them and rediscovering why I continue to love it after all
this time. Everything from the plot to the characters to the music just
wraps itself around me - indeed, so much so that I managed to create an
alternate universe for it back in the initial flush of also discovering
fandom. :)

The first episode alone is a bundle of hilarity, from the moment Elle is
introduced to the moment she downs the beast monster. And it begets a
string of questions never satisfactorily answered by either manga or anime
(which latter diverged in very interesting ways from the former). One of
the eternal mysteries will be how Crimson Kai Shink, whose hair is red in
the manga - ends up with *flourescent green* hair in the anime. I mean,
neon green...thank heavens Dias retained his brown hair and blue eyes! As
one member of the Kuruda ML mischievously pointed out, hair that glowed in
the dark would have been a mighty distracting thing to deal with when
engaged in amorous activities. It was a comment that pretty much destroyed
the ML with laughter, let me tell you. *grin*

Pity Kyou was reduced to being a wailing damsel in distress figure, when in
the manga she is a fairly capable young woman. And how I do wish there had
been time in the anime to introduce us to Raze Reme Waaks Porelo, aka Mr.
Balloon, aka Folli's husband. Their story in the manga is such a sweet
thing.

One thing about that series, you could pick any two characters (except for
maybe the King) and write believable fanfic about them. Reviewing the
episodes is helping me sew up plot holes in my WIPs, which should be an
improvement over the original texts.

And that was basically my day so far. Re-igniting the writing spark through
video. Not a bad way to keep occupied, I think. :)

Cross Get Backes with Shadow Skill. How would the two Bans react to each other?

Hmmm...Gau throughout most of the series is a bundle of insecurity, and really comes into his own in the last three episodes. While Mido...*tilts head and smiles* Highly possible they could actually deal quite well with each other after a few bumps in the road.

*makes a note to dig up Get Backers discs and rewatch* In the meantime, I guess there's always Wikipedia to refresh my memory. :)

I started doing a crossover of Saiyuki and my Shadow Skill AU (!!) which was quite entertaining until it got stuck. *makes note to dig up Saiyuki discs and rewatch THAT*

The general premise was to have the Sanzo-ikkou seek shelter from the rain in the castle of my OC. Various events ensue. :)
