Six Maids a-Milking the holiday spirit

Despite the overcast weather, I ran the parental laundry. So the management of loading the machine punctuated most of my morning.

As hoped for, I managed to sleep in this morning. Woke up at around 8.30am, which is pretty much the definition of "sleeping in", as the day usually begins at 5.30am with the opening of the house gates and the breakfast rush of the cats. Ramon usually takes care of this part, comes back to the room about 6am, watches a little of the early news, nibbles a little something, then goes back to sleep till 9am.

So when I get up, I make the bed (Ramon sleeps in the rocking chair now), wash face, tidy up some stuff, have breakfast, start laundry if it's a laundry day. Look through whatever backlog there is of papers and things to do. Take a bath. Say good morning to Ma if she's up; open her venetian blinds just so.

Managed to get through e-mail, feedly and LiveJournal before lunch. Set up Transmission to download torrents while the family had lunch. Watched TV with the parents, had coffee, then once the last load went into the machine, I lay down for a nap. There is something about cold weather that promotes sleep, I don't know what it is. But whatever it is, I had a good sleep, and feel a whole lot more human now.

What else...I took my Canon D-SLR out of its case and gave it a test run. Am planning to take it with me when the family runs up to Tagaytay on Christmas Day, as the Southern Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and the Skyway will be toll-free on that day and on New Year's Day. Took some pictures of Pebbles-kitten with the Aiptek, for uploading at some point in time.

Technical House picked up the pancit malabon and the soft drinks that are our annual donation to their Christmas party. Amber's did not let me down this time, and delivered the pancit at 12nn, well before the scheduled 1pm deadline. Hmmm...am thinking yesterday's late delivery may have had something to do with a deluge of orders coming in. After all, it *was* Friday night. But as Ma said, the food arrived in time to be eaten, and there an end. The White Forest cake is all gone, and tomorrow I'll buy a cake for the parental anniversary on the 22nd. Home-made pancit this time, with liver and Chinese sausage and all the fixings that can be had. Chicharo (snow peas), if there's any to be had for the pancit, and shrimp. Arce Ice Cream, definitely!

Am planning to get out of the house as early as possible tomorrow, so that we can get back early for Rose to cook the pancit in time for dinner. We have to swing by Mercury for Ramon's medicines first, so getting out by at least 8.30am would be a lovely thing. *meep*

Such is a normal holiday day at chez moi.
