I love it when a plan comes together

Today was triumphant in a lot of ways. Everything came together, even if I slap-dashed a few things last night and early this morning.

Started out with visit to Makati Med. Arrived bearing gifts, like unto the magi from the East, which were distributed thusly:
- fruit boxes for Dr. Gatmaitan and Dr. de la Rosa
- food for the gods box for Ms. Agnes
- pastries for the 6th Floor Circular nursing station, who took care of Ramon last time he was confined
- pastries for the Emergency Room, in keeping with personal tradition

Then to my personal rewards program, aka breakfast at Floating Island. Set up netbook, caught up on e-mail and half of my feeds list while chowing down on a tapsilog breakfast and coffee. Sent Ramon to wait with Dad at Dr. Gatmaitan's office and trotted up to the Rehab Center to check what time Dra. Mercado was having her last patient. Then back down to join the menfolk.

Both checkups went well, thank God. Ramon now has to take the 850mg version of Metformin HCL/Glucophage and work at cutting down on the hidden sweet stuff, otherwise no major changes. He went from 139lbs to 137lbs since his checkup last month - if only I could lose weight so easily! He still has to take the usual precautions, and all ought to be well in the coming year.

After we'd done with Dr. Gatmaitan, the men went down so Dad could get some sustenance at Seattle's Best while I got a physical therapy program for Ma from Dra. Mercado. Am thinking of getting the home service therapist to come over in January, after the holidays are over. Based on personal experience, this is the time of year when schedules go wonky even with the best of intentions; then there are official holidays and what all between Christmas and New Year. Will discuss with Ma tomorrow while we sort out the gift items for the maintenance crew.

As planned, we made a fly-by visit to Cash-n-Carry to pick up the CD-R King stuff that got left behind. While making a slow circle to pass time while waiting for Ramon to come back out, I remembered some other people that needed to be added to the fruit box list.

Also as planned, we made another fly-by stop, this time at Toyota Pasong Tamo, to leave boxes for Carmina (insurance) and Hazel (sales), in keeping with a family tradition since we bought our first Toyota from them all those years ago.

Then home. Late lunch, no nap, lots of computer time, some TV time, and the usual business of living. Tomorrow is stay-home-and-laundry day, and hopefully there will be a lot of sunshine - or at least, no rain.

*chuckle* Our Donya Buding-cat has planted herself four-square on my wool blanket, and looks smug beyond words. Will have to make my excuses later when I go to bed, so as to spread out said blanket for my comfort as well as hers!
