Been tootling about in my little Scarlett Avanza
The meeting was for the Women of Malolos group, and fortunately it was held at the Cristina Condominium, which is about a sneeze or two away from home on a Saturday morning. The regular board meeting, main topic of discussion the 10th anniversary. The actual anniversary doesn't happen until about November, but one cannot start early enough on the preparations. Guess who's going to be responsible for the turns of phrase for the solicitation letters and stuff? *chuckle* Looks like my skills in writing corporate communications will have to be dusted off in short order.
Once I'd finished with the meeting, I picked up Ramon outside the ACCRA Law Office. As is his habit, he'd gone walkabout while I was in the meeting. He would have come back to the car (he really wasn't that far away from the venue), but the heat was a bit much for him. Hence, the service de luxe. *grin*
Our next stop was at Greenbelt. Needed to drop by Healthy Options to get Ma's lutein supplement. The new store beside Fully Booked is gorgeous. They have a view through their front windows that is really something refreshing to look at - and their stock is displayed to better advantage, too.
Healthy Options has a sister store called Bow & Wow, which specializes in organic pet food. I took one look at their cat food selection and went to heaven. So many flavors, and there's poor Buding and Trixie with their tummies all upset these past two days. Am suspecting something turned in either the tuna or the Whiskas pouch food; the latter more likely, as Trixie's tummy rolled before Buding's did.
So what is an indulgent cat owner to do, but to buy four flavors to try them out on the princesses? By the look on their faces when I opened a tin for their merienda (afternoon tea), and the fact that hardly a molecule was left in their plates, I am inclined to believe that they do like this new, organic food. I figure, the little extra spent on good food will pay for itself in avoiding veterinary consultations for ailments.
Since neither Ramon or I were hungry, having had heavy brunches, I asked him if he was okay with my getting a head massage treatment at The Spa. He was fine with it - and all was well until we reached the doors of The Spa and discovered we were early. Or at least, early by their clock - our watches read the time as ten minutes past the opening hour on their notice board. Still, we got in, eventually, and I was easily convinced to add a foot spa to my head massage.
Ah, the bliss of having one's scalp and shoulders sorted out when one's brains feel like they've been eaten by zombies! I really should not be traveling anywhere in my recent state of mind; I'm guaranteed to scare all my passengers to death. *nods*
Ramon fell into a light doze while waiting for me. *loves on hubby* I stroked his arm, which had him all bright-eyed and ready to go to our next stop, Plaza San Antonio (which we abbreviate to Santuario, due to its proximity of the church). Yesterday was the day we refilled his prescriptions, yeah? Well, one of the managers assembled all the tablets together and then handed off to one of our "regulars"; who thought she'd been given everything. We ended up leaving the drugstore without one of the medicines - the one, ironically, that had the most pills (16pcs)! Oye!
So last night I called up one of our regulars, and had the tablets put aside for pick-up. Sent Ramon in to get them, while I put some more money into the bank. I am running on the bare minimum in my wallet, but that's just the way it goes these days.
Came home, thought I would be able to catch a nap. But then I got sidetracked by the need to put away the laundry, feed the cats, tidy up in various corners, wish for the umpteenth time that I could make over the bedroom somehow...and then I turned on the computer. Well, we all know there was no way I could nap after that, right?
Life continued as normal from that point. I'm all caught up with online networks, and am trying to continue a drabble I started last night. Not really working for this particular one at the moment; may have to open another drabble and try there. I'm trying to fix it so that I can manage to write for something every day, no matter how little or bad it may seem to me. I've been so out of creative writing that just getting into the swing of it is a good thing.
So I'll leave you here. I've got Twitter on in the background, and an open drabble file. More news tomorrow!
