So here we are again

Resurfacing from blogging hiatus! *crickets* I've got The Daily Show in the background, and I've gotten through practically everything online : LJ Inbox, feeds, email, Facebook status, and Twitter. Offline life has been a little busy, and has left me wanting to retreat into a semi-vegetative state. Not sick, just...lazy.

The highlights of my week were the two stockholders' meetings that I attended at the Hotel Intercontinental. One was for Ayala Land, and the other, this morning, was for the Ayala Corporation. My dad was once the company pilot for the Ayala Corporation, and made over the stock he received at retirement over to me when I turned 18. Life generally got in the way of my attending the stockholder meetings until about a couple of years ago. Over time I've come to be on a handshake-hello basis with Don Jaime Zobel de Ayala, dad's former boss; his wife Donya Beatriz; and the new boss men, Jaime Augusto and Fernando, the sons of Don Jaime, whom dad used to have sit on his lap while they pretended to fly the company jet (which goes to show just how long he worked for them). I convey dad's regards to Don Jaime and Donya Beatriz, who remember him fondly; I congratulate Jaime Augusto and Fernando and exchange pleasantries at the end of each meeting.

It's a time for me to dress up, put on a little make-up, and enjoy the freebies. This year I got a tote bag from Ayala Land, and an umbrella from Ayala Corporation. The meetings go well - everything runs like clockwork, up until the floor opens for questions. Then comes the entertainment, after a fashion. *grin* See, there are these two or three regular attendees, a little on the elderly side, who love to ramble on and on and ON before getting to the point. Some of those ramblings range from praise-the-Lord preachments to suggestions that are cringe-worthy. Honestly, their hearts are in the right place, it's just the manner of expressing their sentiments are more suitable to the pulpit than anything else.

Ramon went off on a trip to Carriedo while I was at the meeting. By commuter train to Carriedo and back, bearing with him two kilos of strawberries and a bag of longans. Now I really have to get my hands on some cream cheese to mix with honey, to go with the strawberries. YUM. He was a little tired when we met up at SM, but after a little sit-down time while eating lunch at the food court, he recovered nicely.

We didn't linger at SM, rather we went to Mercury Santuario to buy Mama's anti-arthritis supplement; then home, because I was under the impression that a new maid would be reporting for duty. Unfortunately, the prospect changed her mind, and thus I got to stay home instead of resting and dashing out to the village gate. Not that I got any rest. I plunged into the game of online catch-up that I always play when I've been out of the house, interrupted only by cats demanding snacks, dinner time, and locking up the house.

Tomorrow the general plan will be to:
-- pay a credit card bill (SM bills counter)
-- do the groceries (SM Supermarket)
-- refill Ramon's prescriptions (Mercury Santuario)

Once we get back home, there will be a few other odds and ends to take care of, but at a more relaxed pace. Hm. I should take a blood sugar reading from Ramon, just as a random check.

Have been feeling somewhat blah lately. Not sick-blah, just your garden vanilla type of blah. Maybe I really am running low on vitamin intake; I start the day with good intentions, then get thoroughly sidetracked halfway down the line. I've let some things slide, and others haven't gotten a decent start yet, but somehow I can't muster enthusiasm enough to kickstart myself. Maybe some of my Pre-menstrual symptoms are now become Post-menstrual, because this kind of lethargy used to happen before my periods and yet I finished this latest one in a positive spurt of good cheer. *shrug* Oh, the joys of being female! *grin*

There were some other things I wanted to blog about, but I've lost them. So I guess that's a sign to stop here and try again tomorrow. Cheers!

I saw this Ricahrd Quest guy you tal;k about on CNN.
He was yakking with AC and Larry King about Obama at the G20 in London. Quest needs some serious dental work.

There are those that would say he'd be better off with his mouth wired shut, haha. When he first appeared on CNN I kept thinking, "Oh, no. No, no, no, he should be out in the field and not in the studio, he shouts!"

Then somehow he grew on me. Can't explain it, but I like his way with words. Though I think he does much better with his field assignments for CNN Business Traveller than in the studio as a talking head.

I am going to start referring to myself as Don Jaime. (My RL name is Jaime.)

*high fives*

Go you! I'm sure that you are every inch the aristocrat (in the sense of appreciating the finer things in life) that the title "Don" suggests.
