Watched the Watchmen (sees Friends List grimace) :)
Random thoughts about the movie:
* Easter eggs. Lots and lots of Easter eggs - the opening credits alone had lots of good times. My husband was able to spot some of the more glaring examples, and I squeaked at a couple that looked even better on the big screen than on my computer monitor.
* Rorschach, aka Walter Kovacs, aka Jackie Earle Haley - love him. I think he steals the movie.
* Am eternally thankful that Tom Cruise did not get the role of Ozymandias. I think this is the first time I've really looked at Matthew Goode, and he was absolutely delicious on the eyes.
* Am also thankful that, per Wikipedia, Tom Cruise did not get the role of Dr. Manhattan, either.
* Jeffrey Dean Morgan as The Comedian - now I know why I've been hearing good things about the guy from those who have seen his body of work (probably also some of his body in some of his work).
* Nite Owl II + Silk Spectre II = not bad. Not spectacularly good, but not bad. Could have been better.
* The music...it was apt in parts, it made me giggle in parts, it made me go WTF in parts. Which is what movie music is supposed to do, right?
* I covered my eyes for about 5% of the film. You figure out which 5% does it for you, mmmkay?
* Am happy to have spotted many famous people. Must get DVD to spot the ones Wikipedia says were there.
* Somehow I think I will never read the phrase "Lower Manhattan" again without smiling to myself. Ditto for "Big Blue".

In other news: paid the annual fee for one of the credit cards. Discovered that not only is the branch transferring to The Fort (and it was such a handy location, too); it was suggested to me to try and call customer service to get a waiver on the fee. Thing is, it would take one week before I'd know if the waiver was approved, and by then it would be cutting things close for a check payment on the off-chance that the waiver didn't go through. And we all know what it's like when you get delayed payments applied to your credit card, right? Decided to think of the money spent as an insurance premium against future troubles.
Besides, I haven't used the card for most of the year that I've had it. Not sure that would make me a holder in good standing? Though of course, no charges means no penalties incurred...whatever.
Meeting with Women of Malolos group went swimmingly. Seems like I came up with the tag line for the anniversary project, which I will announce in more detail once the concept papers are out. Dropped Ramon at the Allegro Centre Jollibee, and he had fun exploring the building while I was at the meeting. We used the color-coded Avanza, but were still able to get around because (a) we didn't run into any law enforcement people and (b) Ramon carries a Blue Card from City Hall. A recent ordinance states that cars covered under the color-coding scheme are exempted from penalty if it is used to transport a senior citizen with a valid Blue Card. Yay!
Had burgers and fries at the movies, because we arrived barely in time for the 12:15PM showing at Glorietta 4. Ramon used his senior privilege to get my seat switched so that we could sit together, bless.
Went to Watson's at SM Makati after the movies, where I picked up some soap refill packs and calamine lotion for Mama's itchy back. Then back home, where Ramon managed a cat nap before dinner, and I started catching up on the online stuff.
Now life goes on as usual. Tomorrow is stay at home and finish writing assignments day. *bounce*

It's especially fun when you live close enough to the NY area to get their newscasts on TV. I find myself snickering at weather and traffic reports. ^_^
I'll bet your 5% and mine were the same. I'm also glad Tom Cruise was nowhere in this movie!

Unfortunately it's also one my daughter doesn't want to see so I'll probably have to go alone - and wait till the no complenetaries are over as I think my film squad card still has the free movie pass on *eyes it*
