Lazy entry for a calm day

My lady bits are singing the Helen Reddy song with gusto. It's a good thing I'm staying home tomorrow.

In today's events, there was an early start to the day when I woke up at 5AM and remembered to turn on the TV for CNN's Back Story. Was rewarded by the presence of Michael Ware (who now calls Baghdad home, oh gracious) talking about his recent coverage of the drug wars in Mexico. It is gruesome down there - I remember the footage of some konfrontasi between police and drug dealers that showed little children running to safety - WTF.

Brought Dad and Ramon to Makati Med for their monthly checkups. Had a lovely breakfast at Floating Island: the American Breakfast set, with two eggs, a hash brown, two sausages, and rice. With Lavazza caffe latte for dessert. Yum!

Doctor declared the menfolk fit. Dad can afford to have a two or three month gap between checkups; Ramon's schedule remains the same, as we are keeping an eye on his uric acid.

Home in time for lunch. No nap, was catching up on online stuff. Am going to have to figure out just how far back in time I want to go to catch up; am planning projects that will require me to be offline, or will leave me too tired to come online for long, and I can't afford to go back 15-plus pages on Twitter, or Facebook, or LJ, you know? (Not that I expect to see 15 pages in my LJ inbox, but yeah, it's when I leave you guys for a day that I realize how chatty you all are. :) )

Summer is settling in at a rapid pace. I'm wearing spaghetti strap dusters, Ma is afflicted with prickly heat, and laundry set to dry on the line in the morning, can be folded and put away by the afternoon/early evening.

Have seen advertisement for Royal Caribbean cruises around Asia, though my ambitions are more modest - a night, maybe two, at Subic. Drive up via the new SCTEX (or however the acronym goes) and stay at a nice hotel that has airconditioning and access to a beach. Am not into the actual swimming in unfamiliar waters, but just sit me in the shade where I can catch the breeze and doze, sounds good to me. Being lazy would suit me, seeing as how I am to do the driving there and back. Anyway, we'll see how it goes, as usual.

Am sleepy, but don't feel like sleeping just yet. Read news that Apple has put out these new model computers, and am looking at my iBook wondering if it's time for me to make it a dual-boot unit, or leave it alone. Been waffling over the decision for quite a while, but as my main unit happens to be a Blue PC running Linux Mint more than it will ever run Windows Vista Starter, you can see that the question holds little urgency for me.

On the other hand, if Apple put out a netbook? Color me covetuous, is all I'm going to say about that. :)

Note to self: plug in iBook and charge battery, and get updates via wireless router. Yes.

Can't think of much more to say. So I'll stop here, and keep an eye on the headline stories before going to bed.

:)
