  • 12:41 whoops! borked something while playing with KDE. now have excuse to install from scratch. whee! #
  • 12:42 though konqueror isn't bad as browsers go. i like the speed of it. #
  • 12:44 pfft. Gmail still doesn't play nice with konqueror. Firefox it will have to be, I suppose. ::sigh:: #
  • 12:48 the really nice thing about working with Ubuntu, you can bork something and still keep on working till you can start fresh. #
  • 13:11 one thing for sure: by the time i get to a fresh install of kubuntu, i'll have mastered konqueror and the rest of the desktop. sweet! #
  • 14:58 woot. e-mail/feeds/LJ stuff dealt with, and 1.33 hrs left on the kubuntu download. off to knit or watch tv, or both. ::grin:: #
  • 15:52 note to self - sometimes torrents work better than direct downloads. ::shrug:: #
  • 15:55 KTorrent+700MB download=30plus minutes. Direct download=HOURS. Sheesh, could have been freshly installed and running before this! #
  • 17:28 i'm back! fresh new kubuntu install, and updates in progress. that certainly didn't take very long, did it? #
  • 19:47 using upgrade wait time to catch up with Harry Potter: Half-Blood Prince. should be able to finish the book by tomorrow. #
  • 19:47 not too fond of Harry at the moment. #
  • 20:38 Firefox is back in the house. Really starting from scratch now, since I didn't make a list of extensions, eep! #
  • 20:38 But with Ping.fm on my iGoogle, that kills two birds with one stone on the Speed Dial page. #
  • 20:40 OK, hellotxt is on the Speed Dial now. :) #
  • 20:43 hm. no list of extensions means I can re-install what I *really* use, instead of carrying over stuff. which makes for faster browser, y/y? #
  • 21:49 firefox seems to render a bit differently under kubuntu. #
  • 22:10 StartAid Online is a lifesaver for bookmarks. In combination with Firefox, you may never have to import bookmark files ever! #
  • 22:44 mulling over what to get for a twitter client. wiped out TweetDeck and Adobe AIR in the switchover. #
