So while I was offline...
Fresh out of my evening shower, and I've got Numb3rs playing in the background with the latest CSI:Miami downloading. Time for a little update, since offline activities have been occupying my life of late.
Let's see. Monday the whole family went to see Dr. Gatmaitan. Ma wanted a checkup, and is now balking at having to do the tests he ordered for her. She feels fine, she insists – and I have no doubt that she does, but it would certainly be nice if she could have the tests so that she would have a complete file on hand. As it is, I have to cancel her follow-up appointment on the 24th.
Dad checked out fine, as did Ramon. Ramon's meds had a minor adjustment – the Lasix is now half a tablet twice a week instead of four times a week, and that's a good sign. Although the doctor said that if Ramon feels shortness of breath, we should up the dosage again. We live in hope, as usual.
Lunch was at Max's in SM Makati, then a little ramble through Surplus Shop and the department store, which was on sale. ::nose twitch:: Snagged two blouses that I have been eyeing for at least six months and then some, now that they were going at half price, and that was nice.
When we got home...I did the laundry. Well, the coloreds, anyway. There was simply no room left in the hampers, and the weather was holding good, so in a fit of industriousness, I set about getting clothes run through the machine.
While that was going on, I learned more about converting movies with the PSP video software, and reorganized the files in the memory stick. I think Sony may have missed the boat by not making blank UMDs – protecting copyright is all well and good, but if you can put content on a memory stick, you should be able to put content on a disk, is all I'm thinking.

Yesterday, Ma finally got her wish for a spa day at the Mandarin Oriental. Of course, as the designated travel companion, I was entitled to some spa fun myself. ::ebil grin:: The best part? The spa has finally *finally* seen fit to apply a special Local Residents rate and we brought in the spa treatments for about half of what we were expecting it to cost. ::bounce::
Lunch at the Mandarin Deli was a lovely thing as well. I loves me mushroom soup with duck confit, yes, I do! The table near us was a bit loud; presided over by this white-haired alta sociedad matron who was calling the waiters by their first names, obviously a frequent patron of the hotel.
Once home, I started tweaking various arrangements in the office space, filling up one box in the process. Started up the Vuze/Azureus and put 12 torrents in the queue...that's what working on the Windows side of the laptop does, it puts you behind in completing series!

Which brings us to today. Mainly an ordinary day, not much to report, really. Laundered the sheets and the whites. Set the Vuze/Azureus to work on the torrent queue.
Took a nap. ::nods:: Buchi-cat is fussy when I'm late to sit up in the morning, poor sweet. Her miaow is the feline equivalent of "Mama, mama, get up...I'm hungry...mama, wake up..." Poor little baby-cat. ::hugs::
Did some more decluttering, and the office seems happy enough with the results. So all in all, a calm and quiet day.
Tomorrow, Ramon and I have a fairly busy day that doesn't involve grocery-shopping - that's an activity for Saturday morning. This is more or less what we will be up to:
* post office to buy another packing carton
* bank to transfer funds from savings to checking
* bank atm to reimburse grocery expenses
* SM Makati to pay credit card bills (ony two more months of big payments, then it drops sharply, yayz!)
* Park Square One to get Ramon's laptop checked again
* somewhere for lunch
I know there's at least one other stop on the itinerary, but I'm too lazy to turn on the lights and check the diary. ::grin::

Have been visiting the TalkCSI forums lately, what with this downloading of the new season episodes and all. I have decided to stay out of the shipper threads and keep to the episode reaction threads; I love my OTPs, but goodness, the...fervor...of some of these fans is frightening.
That about wraps it up for the moment. It's Christmas coming, along with three anniversaries - parent's wedding, Ramon and my wedding, my birthday. For the first time in a long time, I feel the holiday spirit rising, and it is a marvelous thing.
:)
