holding hands and yawning/look how late it gets
Am planning to call it an early night, so that I can keep winning over the cold symptoms that have been manifesting since I've played the role of Ms. Giddygaddy all over town. So here's a quick run-down of the day:
** Dad decided not to join Ramon's checkup, and sent his ultrasound results instead.
** Breakfast at Jollibee, as usual. 500mg paracetamol taken. Several sneezes follow, and nose was blown.
**Settle down at doctor's office. Set up knitting project. Spot old boss from the old Anderson Consulting Manila Offshore Office days. (When I should have left earlier than I did, but that's water under the bridge.) He doesn't spot me, though.
**Make good progress on knitting before being called into the doctor's office. Ramon appears to be one of Dr. G's favorite patients. Verdict of physical exam: condition stable. Keep away from the sweets and the fats, try to bring down sugar levels. Back in one month.
**Verdict on Dad's ultrasound results: all fairly well. Get cholesterol levels tested. Dad can come in for a visit any time he feels like it.
**Ushered out of doctor's office and received pleasant surprise when paying consult fee: doctor has given us an additional discount on top of the reduced fee Ramon gets as a senior citizen. Heartfelt expressions of gratitude to the doctor and God are breathed.
**Proceed to Market!Market! Lunch at Pancake House. Cold symptoms strengthening - decide to take 1000mg paracetamol in a split dose, half after the soup, and half after the lunch. Recover enough after medication to order classic mini-pancakes.
**Proceed to Ace Hardware. Buy cable TV signal booster for bedroom TV. Also, plastic shoe bins to replace ratty shoe boxes housing Ramon's footwear.
**Proceed to Gaisano Department Store. Leave Ramon on the first floor to scope out pants while I run up to the third floor to buy a plastic bin for Dad's pile of dust-gathering books/miscellaneous papers. Also buy a plastic wastebasket to hold knitting.
**Proceed to Gaisano Supermarket. Buy items on grocery list - mainly veggies, 25kg of Jasponica rice, bread, juice, UHT milk (Nestle, not affected by current China melamine flavoring scare). Bought items not on the grocery list - cat food, two of every flavor of tinned Friskies I could see.
**Pick up hubby and other purchases, then home. Cable TV signal booster has breathed new life into old TV, is almost as sharp as when it was brand-new, if not sharper. Dad's stuff fits exactly into its new home. So do Ramon's shoes fit into their new home.
**Dinner is roast pork loin and tinned salmon. Ingest another 1000mg of paracetamol - nose is drying up, no throat itching or stuff like that. All I need is a good night's sleep, and this thing will be licked.
**Check out social networks, feeds, e-mail, in reverse order. Shower up, drink last vitamins for the day. Chilled mango juice does a lot to revive the spirits.
Sleep calls me to bed now. Time to sign off. Tomorrow is stay-at-home-wake-up-late day!
