Out from the realms of geekdom
So here I am, typing out this entry from my brand-new KDE desktop. ::grin:: I managed to soak myself in Linux geekitude these past two days, and I must say that so far it's been worth the suspense. The only thorns in my side at the moment are the non-existence of Java and Flash on the Ubuntu side, but it will keep for the moment. There are quirks to be sorted out, and as long as I have my Firefox running, I'm a happy cookie.
I had a busy, busy week, and now I don't feel like telling anyone much about it. ::sticks tongue out:: I guess it could be best summed up as me filling the role of chauffeur/concierge. If not for the heavy rains of the past two days, then I'm sure there must have been much more to-ing and fro-ing than I actually logged in.
It would seem that in my last coherent post, I was scheduled for the following trips:
26th July - parents to opthalmologist; checkups went well - Ma has much better vision than I do!
26th July - Ramon came with me to pick up the laundry and refill his prescriptions.
27th July - pay credit card bill at SM Makati, I think I did some grocery shopping, but I'm not sure now.
28th July - Camp Aguinaldo, Dad needed to process pension.
29th July - Camp Aguinaldo again, and then Immigration - more paper-pushing needed.
30th July - Shangri-La Plaza. Ramon had Scrabble business. I got a massage. Woot!
31st July - RAIN. Lots and lots of RAIN=SLEEP. Until I got the Linux fever, and then hey nonny nonny!
Awww. I just missed 9/10ths of the Colbert Report. There's lots of other stuff to do yet, and August has barely begun. May as well stop tinkering with the operating systems and get down to what real work can be done!

This page has instructions for Flash. It's not the only way, but should work. This page talks about Java. If that's not a detailed enough description, I can probably give you some more detail.
I'm upgrading to the newest version of Ubuntu today, myself.
