It seems strange to be posting again
That is to say, actually thinking up a post, rather than twittering on the fly. But having absconded from my laundry duties today, I actually had time to bring myself current on e-mails, feeds, and LJ-land before lunch! Which left me with time to finally upload some photos into my devArt account; some random shots from an ASEAN tour I took with my parents in 2002.
This morning seems so far away from the present moment. It's possible I feel this way because Ramon and I brought Dad to the veterans' outpatient clinic at 6.30. We do believe in giving allowance for unexpected traffic jams, especially along the service road. ::nods:: After we dropped Dad at the clinic, we headed for Jollibee FTI (Food Terminal Inc.) for their corned beef jumbo breakfast. This is made of win -erm- that is to say, it contains some corned beef, a sausage, fried rice, a fried egg, and a hotcake. Who cares about dietary values when your stomach is empty and growling? Not me, that's obvious.
Adding a bowl of molo soup entitled us to a free issue of the Philippine Star, which Ramon happily perused while I dug into the meal. I was so taken by the hotcakes that I sent him to the counter to get me the hotcake breakfast. Naturally, just as I was buttering up, Dad calls up to say he's ready to be picked up. ::sigh:: Nothing for it but to have the counter people bag the meal and head out to the clinic to collect Dad.
Dad being Dad, the way home was anything but straight. First, we pulled into the Petron station to put air in the Innova's tires - but the pressure machine was busted. Then we pulled into UCPB so Dad could use the ATM. *Then* we stopped by Security Bank but their ATM was having a hissy-fit.
Eventually, we *did* get home, just in time to catch Ma sitting down to breakfast. I popped one of my hotcakes into her plate, and then proceeded to demolish the other - along with some of the scrambled eggs the maid had fixed up. Utterly shameless joy, I tell you. ::grin::
Brewed my hazelnut coffee, produced five rows of knitting, drank half the coffee - and then promptly fell into a nap. Woke up in time for lunch - the maid can cook, given the right ingredients, and so far we've had minimal leftovers. Chop suey and fried pampano = yum.
Worked on the devArt photos for most of the afternoon. Once they were uploaded, I managed to add a few more rows of knitting to my first project, and then promptly had myself another nap. Yes, I am totally shameless about my naps. ::grin::
Was up long before dinner, which was a veggie delight - monggo bean sprouts sauteed with carrots, onions and pechay. In short, lumpiang hubad. From there, it was pretty much life as normal (except that I didn't clean out the litter pans, oops).
