On Vox: there are no words at all

No words at ALL.

See this article.

AUGH! Remember all the hysteria about Teri Hatcher's line about Filipino doctors? I just bet the writers of "Desperate Housewives" will be laughing out loud when they hear about this.

How *could* they? That someone could be brought into an OR and made fun of in that way? As doctors and nurses, surely their first and only concern should have been the welfare of the patient. None of their business how that canister got into the man's body. And no, they weren't content making fun of the object and the patient, someone decided to video the whole affair and put it up on YouTube.

::mind boggles::

WHY? I've seen and heard a lot of WTF-ery in my life, but this is one of the most outrageous that ever there was. It's just simply WRONG, on so many levels. Patient confidentiality, basic human dignity - concepts that somehow didn't matter when they started laughing at their patient. Spraying the contents of the canister about the OR! That alone violates the rules of sanitation, doesn't it?

::mind continues boggling::

The actual video isn't on YouTube any more, when I clicked on a link for it - you know, like that train wreck you just can't look away from - but since I caught snippets of it on the local news earlier tonight, the point is moot. I am outraged and ashamed and I think about the parents who spent so much to put these people through pre-med and med proper and board reviews (because damn it all, the lead was a DOCTOR, even if the video culprit was a nurse trainee) and then to see them cited this way, it must be so awful for them. Especially now that losing that precious PRC license is now a distinct possibility...eight years of education and the graduate can't practice, it must be a nightmare.

GAH. What a disgrace. With the Department of Tourism trying to promote medical tourism, this will take a whole lot of damage control to convince potential visitors that this is *not* normal medical practice by any means!

That's disgusting. I hope they all get their licenses revoked or whatever and then kicked out of the medical field. Bastards.

And then after that, they should be made to pay back their parents for all the money that got wasted by sending them through med school.

It's beyond all kinds of moronic stupidity.
