Blessed are the normal days

...for in them, things are accomplished. ::nods::

In the continuing saga of the household help, we have acquired yet another new person to hopefully be more helpful than her three predecessors. I had to remind Ma not to expect perfection on Day 1 - however, things have been cleaned and tweaked, with minimal supervision. Which is more than I can say for the others. In a general clean-through of the maid's quarters, we have found evidence of things snitched, things misused, and so have set them to rights. Prayers for the continuance of such assistance are greatly welcomed.

Ramon continued well today. This may be due to the fact that I made him eat little snacks between meals. As a result, his sugar levels rose before bedtime - but as I have seen similar readings before, I am fairly sure that the hypoglycemia scares are over. Prayers for the continuance of the new medicines' efficacy also welcomed.

I managed to read through all my e-mail and feeds (this may be because it's Sunday in the States, and therefore everyone is sleeping in), and caught up with LJ-Friends. This left me free to edit the commercials/unwanted bits out of every DVR file that's been piling up since last week. ::bounces happily:: Burning session tomorrow, between laundry loads and keeping an eye on the maid. Woot!

What else...the usual cat maintenance stuff. Feed 'em breakfast, lunch, dinner. Clean out litter trays. Make sure the ones who sleep indoors are inside when I lock up the house for the night. Cuddle them, talk to them, make sure the brats don't get into fights. ::grin:: I loves my cats, and they love me.

There were software updates to install: Adobe Reader, NeoOffice, OS X Security.

There were files to be transferred into the WD Passport external drive. Have decided to declare a moratorium on anime downloading after all the current series on my drive have completed. (Unless a new Petshop of Horrors anime comes out, oh me! Or a new Slam Dunk! Or, heaven help me...a new Shadow Skill anime. ::dies::) Should such a thing come to pass, then I will have time and space to take care of other projects. We shall see!

Should we have a stable household routine once again, one of my fonder dreams is to be able to resume my oft-interrupted personal care routine. So far, I am trying to make it a habit to apply dabs of lotion to my hands every time I wash them - and dear heavens, how I wash them! This is the second night in a row that I've managed to have a full-on evening shower, and it feels good to be clean in this dust-laden environment.

So, as the subject title states, today was a normal day. And blessed it was, certainly. ::nods::

Now, off to read some fanfic or play an online game. Ciao!
