First post of the month
Well, now. The new maid, Beth, is settling in quite nicely. The reimbursement we promised the other maid's sister has been received, and all is well. It's so soothing, having someone who understands directions!
Have been feeling a bit flat today...maybe because I didn't take my vitamins. Still, I had enough energy in me to drive Ma up to Megamall, where she had fun poking through the ladies' department. I scored two new pairs of nice slacks in navy blue and brown. Made a mental note to myself to bring in a couple of skirts to the alterations shop to get the waistlines fixed - as in, taken in. ::bounce::
Lunch was at Pho Hoa. Then we drove up to Bulacan Gardens up in White Plains, and picked up various garden supplies, from soil to new plants, to fertilizer. Our last stop was for coffee at Starbucks at the High Street, and let me say that summer is about to come in with a vengeance here in Manila - it was HOT! ::offers some sunshine to snowbound friends in the States::
Managed to squeeze in a short nap before setting up a chicken for the turbo. Used teriyaki sauce and lemongrass powder to flavor it, and I must say that it tasted rather good.
Caught up with a new episode of Clean House and now I'm watching The Apprentice. Darn if I know what season this is, but one of the challenges is for GNC at the halftime of an LA Galaxy game. They haven't mentioned Beckham, so I guess this is before his transfer to the team.
Off to do some writing exercises before bed. Cheers!
