Tired Tuesday

The good news: we have a new maid who has every appearance of being a sensible worker. With a little training, things should go well with us in a week or two.

Sending off the old maid, however, was an extreme trial of patience. Thank heaven it is over - at least, we consider it over, with our responsibility having ended once we put the maid on the bus to her home city. I refuse to go into details, it was that tiring. Tiring enough so that, once I got down from the Revo to help hubby buy lechon manok for lunch, people could have been forgiven for thinking I'd just come from an extended session of making whoopee. ::sighs::

In any case, I sent text messages to the maid's sister at every step of the proceeding, so no one can say I didn't do my best to keep the relevant people informed. Gah.

After lunch, I had barely enough will power to stay awake till my food was well on its way to digestion. I held on for about half-an-hour, and then literally hit the sack for one of those world-without-end naps. I could cheerfully have slept through till midnight, except for the fact that Ramon's prescriptions needed refilling.

So a quick side trip to Mercury Santuario, then Rustan's for some groceries. Back home, to find the maid working with dispatch under Mama's direction. We have hopes, as usual.

I dove into the storage cabinet looking for a grocery bag with which to line our trash can (itself a recycled kitty litter bucket), and ended up pulling out the storage bin where all the bags are kept. Also, pulled out the storage bin where various cleaning implements are kept. The idea is to have a grand sorting through of plastic bags, returning them to the old system we set up: one bag each for large, medium, and small bags.

Rediscovered the four-level plastic trolley, dismantled and tucked into a large grocery bag. Re-assembled said trolley, and now the veggies have moved into their proper home, instead of cluttering up the food prep/maid's dining table in bilaos. ::nods::

Sat down for dinner, and promptly felt every last one of my aches and pains. Had an excuse to turn on the heater and have hot water for my bedtime shower - and oh, the utter bliss of feeling CLEAN! As in, the wash water changed color kind of clean. This was followed with the slathering of hand cream and moisturizers on my poor, abused skin, especially my hands. They're never going to be the hands of a lady of leisure, but at least they will be clean and reasonably nourished if I have anything to say about it.

Will close here for now. The cats are in their chosen corners, the house is locked up and asleep - and I feel sleepy, in a good way. Cheers!
