Today's highlights
Have wrapped up the main parts of my online life, and now it's time to jot down the day's events.
** Ran Dad's laundry through the machine. Mine is exploding out of its hampers, but will have to wait a day, maybe two, since Ma wants to run her laundry tomorrow. Alternatively, I could bring it all to the laundromat. We'll see.
** Brought Ma to her long-postponed salon appointment. While there, I had myself a long-overdue manicure and pedicure (the LENGTH of my toenails does not bear thinking about), and a hair spa treatment which was actually an excuse for a scalp massage and a back rub. Chris, who did my hair spa, is a bloody marvel with the hand work, and highly to be recommended if any of my Manila-based friends decide to have something done at the Bench Fix salon at Glorietta 4. Lani is also great with the foot spa, very careful of deep-seated cuticles and ingrown nails. So that was marvelous.
** Bought half a dozen egg tarts from Lord Stow's. ::has tastegasm:: I love them, in the extreme sense of that much-abused word.
** Had afternoon tea with Ma at Jollibee, where I also bought a hotdog for my hubby.
** FINALLY, the candles for Tito Pec and Tito Sergio got lit when we stopped by Santuario on the way home.
** Picked up a new round of prescription refills for Ramon.
** Picked up two supersize cans of tuna (for the cats, who appear to be fed up with commercial cat food but still love their kibble), and a newspaper. Arguably the smallest purchase I have ever made at Rustan's Fresh since I started patronizing the place.
** Would like to go back to Rockwell this weekend and take a closer look at some of the stuff I was eyeing at the Apple store yesterday, before I had to go dashing to the rescue of a cousin stranded at the domestic airport.
** It's a nice feeling, getting things done by a decent hour. It means I can actually try out new things instead of constantly playing catch-up.
** ::yawns:: Guess it's time to hit the sack. I've been pretty much on the go all day, except for the part where I fell asleep in the salon chair while Chris was getting the knots out of my scalp.
