So we have a new channel on SkyCable

It's called AXN Beyond.

Aside from running shows like The Dresden Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and everyone's beloved Supernatural?

They are running The X-Files. ::bounce::

From the beginning. ::bounce!squee::

Ramon and I watched the part where Scully runs into Mulder's hotel room, scared stiff about her mosquito bites, and here's my hubby, who has *never* seen any part of The X-Files before, saying: "Aw, man, kiss the girl already! What more can you ask for!"

::huge happy grin::

I forsee many happy spousal bonding moments in the future...

OH lord, you make me want to subscribe to SkyCable. But, but too much hassle to do the paperwork for it. I'll just wait for them to go back to the apartment and have well hopefully someone else would subscribe soon. XD

I agree, subscription paperwork is the pits. It's funny, really - when cable TV was new in the Philippines, we were with Sky. I dumped them for Destiny until Destiny's customer (un)care kept screwing with my billing payments record. Went over to Home Cable, then got the package deal with Infocom...then Pangilinan sold the whole boodle to the Lopezes and I was all OW. WAI U DO DAT?

In the end, things worked out all right. I have a 1Mbps account under ZPDee, bundled with SkyCable Gold. At first we were debating going Platinum, but then (a) we can hardly watch the channels we have, and (b) no high-tech TV to truly appreciate the signal and (c) Jeebus, the *expense*!!

^.^

Oh I am curious as to how much is the bundle of SkyCable Gold and the zpdee broadband. Is the net any good? At the moment PLDT's service is not that bad at home, but am not too keen on having a really slow net connection here in Manila. I know how slow PLDT can get so...uh...and Globe isn't that great either.

Well ZPDee is costing me 1,999.00 for a 1Mbps connection. Now I don't know if it's because I'm in Makati, but the speed is nothing to complain about - I can watch YouTube without too much waiting on the buffering time. Download burst speeds can be up to 200kb/sec, usually running at an average of 90-100 kb/sec.

At this time of night, there's a perceptible slowdown in speed, maybe more folks are out in cyberspace?

SkyCable Gold comes in about 900.00. All the usual suspects as far as channels go, plus a new lineup since Solar jumped over to Global Destiny (thereby depriving my husband of his NBA fix).

Customer service as far as TV/cable status queries are concerned, is satisfactory. Or at least, I have found them to be so.

It's so much fun to see how young Gillian and David were in that first season...plus, the fashion changes. ::huge grin::
