Gads the work didn't waste any time piling up
So...here's the list of the priority items I need to get done tomorrow:
* register the Revo
* deliver the payment for the Village Association dues
* arrange for the fire insurance check pickup
* try to confirm if rice cooker spare parts will arrive tomorrow
* mail some cards at the post office
* buy cat food
There's a longer list in my steno notebook, but these are the ones that need me to be out of the house.
I'm still struggling with the communications issues of the maid. It really bothers me that she can't hear the doorbell - or the delivery man calling out to check if anyone is home! Ma is willing to overlook this because the maid doesn't speak the dialect common to all the other househelp on the street - but trying to explain things to her in a voice I only normally use when I'm upset, is wearing me out. Plus, the pussycats aren't all that fond of her - which would be easy enough to remedy if I could communicate properly with her. Am currently in negotiations with the good Lord to provide us with a maid that can hear and is not a gadabout. The last requirement requires a miracle, and certainly that is within the realms of divine intervention.
In the meantime, I breathe deeply a whole lot and try not to be a mean machine.

Today was dividend payout day at the local savings and loan, which has brought a needed infusion of cash into my finances. Now is the time to see just how much I can pay off on the credit card and still have enough for household expenses. I am figuring out just what I can manage to do without, and I don't think I'll be feeling deprived any time soon, even after the pruning of expenses. However, I may be bitten by the green-eyed monster when I see folks able to indulge themselves on things I've sworn off. Those are the times when being a hermit in front of the computer could actually be a very good thing.
From the savings and loan, we deposited Ma's dividend in her bank, then put gas in the Innova, then dropped by Mercury Forbes, and then home. Slow day.
I'm going to go now and figure out what to do with all the planners that I got from promotional offers all throughout the Christmas season. Catch you when I catch you!

And btw, on one of your previous post, you mentioned getting a book from Booksale. There's a Booksale in Makati? Where? :)

Re BookSale: The one we go to is in Goldcrest, lower level. It's below the Mendez skin place, at the corner fronting Gerry's Grill. Lovely place. :) I knew I should have snagged those three hardcover Regency romance collections when I had the chance, because they're not there now. But no big loss...I have too many books in my "please read ME!" pile to pine over not having them.
A blessed New Year to you and yours!
