Now that I've actually had some time to think
I have a headache. ::wry grin::
The temperature has dropped, and for someone who's just come out of the bath, there's a definite chill in the air - as it should be for January in the Philippines. Not enough to send expats running for cover, but the locals are happy enough for a respite from the humidity that will be ours come summer time.
Still haven't made any resolutions for the new year. I do, however have a list of things I'd like to get done, and will happily tick them off as they do get done. One of the items on that list is to finish collecting all the episodes in the anime series that I'm following, and then declare a moratorium on trying out new series. I can see a few holes in this - such as an upcoming season of Jigoku Shoujo, and of course Bleach will probably live on until the Second Coming/Rapture/Apocalypse. But saving those two, I think I can make this plan work.
I'll be cutting off my subscription to the cross-stitch magazine I'm subscribed to. I've got enough issues and projects to tide me over until the melting of the polar ice, and barely scratched the surface, which is a real shame. So I save money, and can enjoy my little library in the leisure time I can grab from domestic chores.
This morning I set about sorting and filing all the papers that accumulated over the past month; so now I have a neat inbox. Tomorrow I will set aside for personal inventory: projects that still need doing, stories that I've been meaning to write, assignments that need completion. It's one thing to know them in your memory, but infinitely more convenient to have them down in a notebook...hard evidence that you better get off your duff and do them! ^.^ Despite the convenience of an online calendar and such, I am still very much a paper-based person.
Take the present moment. Now that I've mentioned writing things down, I want to pick up a pen and my notebook (pretty much like a task-oriented Pensieve) and start listing things while looking around the room. Not just things to do, but the contents of my inbox, how many planners I've got waiting to be used, and whatever random notions pop into my head. As it is, I've just remembered the 1.5 months of receipts that ought to be posted to ledger cards, for the sake of neatness; the box in which they currently reside is full to overflowing. This year I thought I would to try and record even the unreceipted purchases as well; but that's a formidable task and if one doesn't list such transactions at point of sale, how does one go on?
::shrug:: We'll see how things go. As it is, it's 12.30AM, a new day is on the brink of dawning, and I have to get some sleep!
