Was Quezon the Filipno President right after Ww2? IIRC, they named a city for him? did they move the capital there from Manila (or am I sadly mistaken/)

a) Quezon was the President when WWII broke out. He died in the US of tuberculosis in the middle of the war, and Jose Laurel (whose relations are also in government) took over.

b) Yes, they named Quezon City and Quezon Province after him. The capital of Quezon Province was then named Aurora, after Mrs. Quezon, who was killed by communist fighters.

c) For a while Quezon City was the capital of the Philippines, and then because everyone persisted in referring to Manila as the capital, it lost that title. However, Quezon City is now one of the premier cities in Metro Manila (a behemoth entity that encompasses several cities and municipalities), which pleases it mightily. ^.^
