Info and piccies on this page. centred in Gisborne area and fair amount of damage up that way.

I felt it down here in Wellington, the house swayed very strongly for a bit.

It's all over the news here. I have realitives in Napier but rang through and they are okay.

Well, that's a relief! I have an LJ-Friend who's vacationing with her aunt and uncle in New Zealand, but I think they're in the South Island.

Oh, glory be...CNN has just reported some quakes in Turkey. @.@ No reports of damage or injury at the moment, let's hope it stays that way as more information comes in.
