A day of rest - or nearly so.
Am tired. But happy tired, at least. Nothing at all like the tired of last year at this time, for which God be thanked from the bottom of my heart.
Went to Cash-n-Carry for vegetables and other stuff. I bought an ox tongue - because it's not Christmas if I can't make lengua, yo. The renovations at Cash-n-Carry are marvelous in my eyes. There's a Banco de Oro, National Book Store, Teriyaki Boy, and Pancake House. Anson's and Ace Hardware are going to set up shop in the new annex. Mercury Drug has moved in from the dingy building it used to occupy, and the other tenants are up on the third floor. There's a CD-R King on the mezzanine and a new Japan Home Store on the ground floor. I could have a lot of fun in this new setup, yes I could.
Home for lunch, then Mass at 6.OOPM. A short stop at the supermarket, where I discovered the ATM network was down. This makes me think that I should take out a sizeable chunk of cash to last through Christmas week - since with people withdrawing right and left, it's likely the network will be down more often then it would be under normal circumstances. Needless to say, I will squirrel away said stash somewhere safe - which means my wallet is out of the question. ::grin::
Then Ramon and I and the maids went joyriding to check out the lights of Christmas. There was good music on the radio, as we traced a route through Ayala Avenue, Makati Avenue, Rockwell Center, The Fort, and the Village. All in all, a good hour of driving and lots of singing from hubby. A good time was had by all.
Dinner when we got home, and the cats are content. Am now waiting for my dinner to digest while catching up with LJ-Friends. I hope your weekend, wherever you are, has been as peaceful as mine. And for those who are snowbound, here's to you folk making it through the winter without any more storms in your area!

We have lots of nice standard OPM (Original Pilipino Music) carols too, which, thankfully, get as much airtime as the Western carols. It was a good day when local radio got out of the "all things Stateside are better" mentality.
