Wardrobe musings
I have two pairs of denim jeans that are a bit loose around the waist, but I'm not sure I want to keep them any more. I also have three denim skirts, but here the choice is easier - one of them definitely has to go, since the waist pinches - and not in a mild way, either. The day for giving away the donation boxes is fast approaching, so it would be a wonderful thing to be able to have all the old clothes out at last.
Yesterday was a very busy day. The bulk of it was spent inside SM Makati, with a side trip to Glorietta so I could get the right lens of my eyeglasses changed to match the new prescription; National Book Store for supplies, Marks and Spencer to check out new stuff, and afternoon tea at the G4 Food Court. Before that, a stop at the village post office and barangay clinic. Otherwise, SM - that black hole for money on hand - totally owned Ramon and my souls.
But there is something satisfying to drop into a place where you can:
- pay your bills
- buy duty gifts that look decent
- buy export overruns that actually fit (yayz Bandolino!)
- eat budget meals
- get your hair done
- get your new purchases altered
We arrived at the mall around 2pm, and left at 8.30PM. ::mind boggles:: Tired, but happy for having gotten things done before the Christmas rush. Believe me, no one wants to be shopping by December 15th, the last payday before Christmas!
Also? Ran Dad's laundry in the morning, and the maintenance crew was in to clean the water tank.

Today, by contrast, was a quiet day. Watched AC360 and was mildly disappointed by the extended coverage of the Nebraska shooting. I understand that CNN broke the story, but most of the footage seemed like filler. I mean, really - no new information, not even from the presscon, which bit a huge chunk out of airtime. Better if they had cut the coverage after the first quarter-hour, then gone on to other stories.
Went to the micro-strip mall to get Ramon's prescriptions filled. He goes in for blood tests on Saturday morning - fasting blood sugar and glycolized hemoglobin. Our tentative itinerary is to have breakfast after the tests, then drop by Santuario for the Mass of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. At least the mid-morning Mass will be short and sweet - for sure the evening Masses will be full of musical showmanship = LONG.
Had afternoon tea at Le Coeur de France, after popping into Santi's to see what's new. The latter establishment is full to the brim with deli trays and baskets of good stuff, not to mention expats making reservations for crown roasts of lamb and steaks and what-have-you. Dropped by the supermarket to pick up toilet paper and Gatorade.
Home again, in time to catch the Ellen episode featured on CNN - the one where Jenna Bush called home to say hi to her daddy. Now whatever you may think of George Bush's politics, he seems to have raised a sensible bunch of children. Certainly he sounded the proud father, and the conversation produced two major "Awwwww!" moments.

To think I wrote the subject line of this post at 7.30pm. It's now 11.30pm and I think it's time I wrapped this up. I've got a busy day ahead for me tomorrow - but with the parents this time, while Ramon gets to stay home.
Cheers!
