Christmas is a coming, the geese are getting fat...
The decorations, lights, and lanterns are up!
The maintenance crew was back, and oh, was there ever a bustle, moving stuff around and setting things up and getting things fixed! My back aches all over, but it's worth it to see everything all aglow. I do believe that the Christmas spirit will start flowing, bit by bit, as we get through all the social obligations of the season. This is the first year where I took the "director's chair" and let the guys do all the hanging and arranging of the ornaments...when I started getting serious about decorating the front door, I was the one clambering up and down and tweaking things just so.
Gift packs for the regular maintenance personnel (crew, cemetery caretaker, gardener) have been set up. Money envelopes are on hand for the messengers/delivery people. The decor bins have been sent back up into storage, and the giftwrap paraphernalia have been brought down. Ensaimada has been ordered. But have I taken out the Christmas cards yet? Uh, no! ::chuckle:: Maybe tomorrow or Thursday? Definitely they'll be ready by December 8th (yayz for half-day post office).

Ohhhh...Nic Robertson is back in Afghanistan? What, they just gave him time to kiss his wife and daughters before sending him back to the field? Though I must say that his outfit looks wonderfully sharp. There's Michael Ware back in Iraq again, too. ::sigh::
My news/weather OTP of the moment is definitely Adrian Finigan and Jenny Harrison. The banter between London and Atlanta this afternoon was absolutely crackling. ::grin::

Not much else happened today. Like I needed anything more to happen, with all the running around and fixing up that was going on? (Before I forget, the marital bed now has new castors and the mattresses got a good thumping before being returned. This is extremely good.) Ryrie-chan's Amazon order arrived long before the projected December 21 delivery, of which fact she was duly notified, said notification received with great joy, I presume.
Barnes and Noble is asking me to rate a supplier - how I am supposed to do that when the item ordered is supposed to take six weeks in transit and it's only five weeks into shipping? Hm?
I read a blistering review of the Apple Leopard OS that compares it to Vista. Quite the eyebrow-raiser, considering that some folks wish they hadn't upgraded so soon, and others not having any problems at all. Am feeling vindicated about not being an early adopter! Therefore, with the money I save from not getting a MacBook, I could beef up the memory on this little baby, which should make things move a little faster than they do now. But it's not that urgent. My little Weiss Schokolade still performs as top of the line as the day she was bought - nearly two years ago, if memory serves properly.
Time to be signing off. Time for a little gaming, then bed. Catch you around!
