::sigh:: Body in protest
Remember the bloated tummy I had the day before last?
Well. I don't know what I ever did to offend it, but my digestive system had a conniption. Mild, compared to hubby's gastritis, but uncomfortable all the same. Fortunately, the discomfort in no way interfered with my getting a sound sleep - which hubby takes to mean that maybe my body is telling me to slow down and let the world live without me for a change. I tend to agree. At the moment, I find that the mere thought of solid food is enough to make my digestive system enter a state of catatonia; so it rather looks like I'm going to live on congee and unseasoned food for a while.
Poor Mama was worried when I decided not to come down for dinner at the appointed time...seldom do I take to my bed because of illness, so being a mother, she was unsettled and kept checking me every hour on the hour. Hubby offered me a Tums to see if things would improve, and it did help, though I can feel gas bubbles floating about inside me still.
Another thing to be grateful for is that I continue to maintain "regularity" as the fibre supplement ads so delicately put it. So far all is calm in that department; and a great relief to the innards as they purge whatever offending matter is still stuck inside me.
But enough of such things! I was disappointed to discover that internet and cable TV service went down starting at 11am, thus rendering two of my DVR settings for naught. This mitigated my disappointment at discovering that CNN International had THREE LIVE FEEDS of AC360 today! I got the 8am telecast, but missed out on the 11am telecast and there was actually a telecast in the afternoon...whoa. Since the service was down from around 11am till 6 pm, no need to feel bad about not having had early notice so I could have set up the DVR.
I'll have a nice dose of Richard Quest to make up for it, though - his monthly show is coming out, and he's doing the 30-minute special about the maiden voyage of the Airbus A380 from Singapore to Sydney. Singapore Airlines is the carrier, and by all accounts, things were as luxurious as any traveler could want - even for those in economy!
In the WTF department - cause of Glorietta blast traced to the accumulation of methane gas and diesel fumes traveling through pipes and being ignited by electrical sparks/switches. Um. OK. I'm no explosives expert, and I'm sure such a thing is possible under the right circumstances. But the mall has been around for fifteen years or more (Ramon and I used to date there), so why now? I would imagine the septic tank was installed when the building first went up, so that's a lot of methane gas been floating and vented about, you think? Will be following the reportage on this, as the concept absolutely boggles my mind.
Also in the WTF department - Erap given a pardon. Oh, boyo. Never in a hundred years could I have imagned such a thing could happen, so soon after the guilty sentence handed down by the Sandiganbayan! OK, the man is 70, he falls under the law about pardons for the senior citizen offenders, but still...
Yesterday I managed to attend the Kampana meeting, despite the conniption fit my tummy was making. It was probably not a good idea to eat those onions in the burger that was ordered for me, but I only made it through half the burger in any case. I have new assignments - the earliest is on November 9, lalalala, must quicktime on the recovery process in order to get things done.
Last night, during my sleepless phase, I managed to catch The View. Whoopi, Joy Behar, and the two other ladies whose names I don't recall. It seemed all right - not that much cat fighting going on. But then I was half-asleep, so who knows.
Not that much left to relate, will no doubt pull another early night despite my soothing nap this afternoon. All my body seems to want to do is sleep, which seems to be the normal thing when it needs healing. So I'll catch you when I catch you, then!
