The internet is slow tonight

Relatively slow for me, that is - my connection has spoiled me with consistent 80-plus kB/s speeds for a very long time, so anything else feels slow. It's a weekend night still in the States, though, and lots of folks online after homework or overtime here in Manila, which is as good an explanation as any for the sluggish speeds.

Was up at 3.00AM because I turned in relatively early, and I was soaking in my own perspiration. At first I wondered if I was having my first-ever hot flash, but then hubby said that was why he woke up at around the same time. Stayed up till 5.00AM, opened the kitchen door, and went back to sleep till about 9.00AM. Remained conscious through breakfast and a shower. Caught up with mail and feeds; filed all the bills and assorted notices; caught up with LJ_Friends, and then had lunch.

After lunch, Ramon accompanied me to Gaisano, where things went according to plan:
- bought disc marker pens from CD-R King
- bought prescription meds from Mercury Drug
- bought a bottle of Sanitary Balm (liniment cream) and got a free head/upper back massage
- bought books at the Books And Mag stall
- merienda/cena at Sbarro's. Yum!
- grocery shopping at the Gaisano Supermarket, basically for the cats

Gaisano has changed the layout of the supermarket, and shrunk the international foods section mightily. This is a mild disappointment, but they still carry the products we favor most, so not a total loss.

Am sleepy now and full. Or should it be the other way round? Anyway, my eyes are closing of their own accord, and having done all I wanted to do today, I'll close here. More rambling news tomorrow, if I can manage it.
