An afternoon and evening of blessing
This afternoon I was carried away by my best friend to celebrate her birthday. An advanced celebration, as the birthday is on the 18th, on which day best friend's car is grounded due to color-coding.
With us were my goddaughter, goddaughter's friend/batchmate, and my kumpare at goddaughter's confirmation rites. Dinner was had at Chelsea at Piazza Serendra, with a generous helping of Fully Booked for afters. It was a bit of a bienvenida (trans: welcoming party) for kumpare, in a way, as he has recently arrived from abroad.
It was blessing to be an unashamed fangirl of CNN in general and Anderson Cooper in particular; of movies, manga, comics, anime and life in general. It was a blessing to laugh and laugh without worrying about other people throwing cold water over your enjoyment. It was a blessing to make new friends in Fully Booked, and fill in the missing volume of my Sword of Truth series.
Am too buzzed to write up the event in detail, however...it is my fervent hope that best friend will be as blessed in her life as I was blessed by her today - with joy overflowing, health and love.
Now, I go review DVR files, to see what's to keep and what to erase. Am becoming quite the nitpicker of the male anchors' ties in relation to their suits - for example, Owen Thomas' choice of a gold squarish-patterned tie and a wide pin-striped olive brown shirt was an eyebrow-raiser. But that wasn't as bad as the picture of Dr. Sanjay Gupta in a lovely dark suit, but a white shirt and a spandex-neon pink tie. Oh, I kid you not, that shade of pink was too distracting for words!
