I'm now the proud owner of a Pioneer HDD-DVD recorder. 160GB, and a gazillion controls. I bought it primarily to record video (can anyone say CNN specials like Planet in Peril?) it can also be used as a music jukebox or a video library (but if you're transferring from copy-protected discs, there will be issues, warns the salesman and the manual).

Hooked up the new toy to the existing setup, and everything works, hallelujah. I can now sleep well o' nights, knowing that I've got my Christmas gift early. :;bounce::

Must look for sleep now. Am tired, but in bliss.

The HD-TV will have to wait till we can afford digital cable. ::grin:: Till then, I have a way to get to bed early if I need to, and not worry about missing my Jon Stewart fix.
