The Long and the Short of It
For the first time in a thousand years, I finally got to see a movie in the theatres! Ma was going stir-crazy and was dying to see Catherine Zeta-Jones in No Reservations; so off we went to the movies via City Hall. Turns out that the senior free movie passes expired, so we had to go get new booklets. Then off to Park Square One, and then the movies!
I liked the movie. Not quite Frank Capra, bless him, but there will never be another like - so the film stands well enough on its own legs. Don't go if you want to think your way through the plot, please. Do go if you want fluff and light entertainment, as I did - Ma could care less about the plot, as long as she could enjoy Catherine with cataract-free eyes, yayz!
Had a heavy meal at Yoshinoya after the movies, pottered about the displays in front of True Value, discovered that the BPI Convenience Center (with money machine) had removed themselves from their former location and tucked themselves into what used to be Mobile One. While Ma went to the washroom, I popped into Mercury Drug and refilled some of Ramon's medicines.

EDIT: Saw the trailers for Beowulf and Robert Redford's Lions for Lambs. I think the latter might make it into a nominations list at some point during awards season. As for the former, seeing Neil Gaiman's name on the big screen made me bounce in the chair. ::grin::

Home again to sit with hubby while he ate dinner. At one point one of his teeth chipped, so that means a visit to the dentist in short order. Am now drinking a cup of warm water in which is mixed a teaspoon of turmeric, which was mentioned as a liver cleanse in a health program I was watching recently. Tastes pretty good, actually, and I hope it will help clear out my internal plumbing.

AC360 was blessed with real news to present in today's telecast. My man Cooper was doing very, very well - and I lost it completely when he mentioned the song "Delta Dawn"! Apparently Ms. Erica was just as surprised as anyone else, and was teasing him to sing, or at least hum a few of the lines - which of course, never happened.
I was, however, quite disappointed at the abrupt cut-off to the show. The banter barely ended and there wasn't even time for AC to recap the headlines before going into the second hour! Maybe the podcast will be better; sometimes it's an improvement!
The new commercial bulletin boards have been tweaked, but I'm still agog over the one that says, "Don't Touch That Dial!" Um, do TVs even *have* dials these days? The remote, yes. But someone better point that out to the AC360 graphics team - unless they're using it as a toast to the good old bad old days of broadcast media.

That's about it for the day. It's been peaceful and quiet, and I'm still tapping out words for various drabbles, and this is very good.
