I is had a pifanee...!
The next time any of my idiot relatives tries to make me feel like a second-class citizen for not having a high-profile, high-paying job? I'm just going to chill and remember how I managed to bring back my husband from death's door at least three times this year (with due credit to his love of a cardiologist and the facilities of a good hospital). If that doesn't remind me that I am good for something in this life, I don't think anything will. ::nods::
Ain't it amazing, when one's head finally comes on straight? Took me long enough, too.

In the brighter side of the news, I have also come to the realization that the younger generation may not know what a tansan (metal bottle cap/crown) is any more, what with all the plastic softdrink bottles and such. @__@ Tansans were fun for inventive minds when I was a child - you beat them flat, nailed a hole in them, and threaded them on wire to make tambourines; you also, if you were of the delinquent disposition, used them to scratch the paint off people's cars. ::chuckle:: I am of an age when the liner under the crown was made of cork, whee, the world has changed *so* much since then!

Tried hooking up my iPod speakers to the bitty bit TV, and the sound is lovely. Of course, the sky then opens up in a perfect deluge, thereby drowning the sound. ::eyes the rain:: Will have to dress up in an hour or two to bring the maids to church. Hubby is to stay home and recover from the slight fever he was running last night - no exposure to the elements for him till the weather improves!
Aha, rain has stopped. All will be well. Oh, bwah...OJ, no surprise, is one of the subjects of CNN International Correspondents. Fionnuala Sweeney looks really pretty today!
