Feeling a wee bit out of sync
Missed my AC360 fix this morning, but well worth it, to know that hubby got a clean bill of health from the doctor this morning. ::bounce:: In fact, the doctor has said, that barring future incidents of internal organs having hissy-fits, our checkup schedule might well be adjusted from monthly to once every two months. We continue, therefore, to remain in a state of cautious jubilation. For a change, we had breakfast at the hospital canteen, and it was good. Unfortunately we lost the cap that I'd bought in Germany for Ramon - pretty little thing, but I'd rather lose the cap than lose the husband. I did a little jotting down of random thoughts, as follows:**Politicians who are made of massive failThe latest scandal in a seemingly unending series of scandals, is the awarding of a contract to a chinese firm without going through public bidding. It's being bandied about that the contract itself was overpriced. The contract was for the construction of broadband facilities. On the surface it sounds like a long-overdue idea, which it is, truthfully speaking. Per terms, Philippines wouldn't have to pay a thing. which makes me wonder - could we be considered owners of finished product if we have no money invested? Anyway, since the country wasn't meant to put money down, that was the reasoning for not putting it under public bidding. But there are supposed to be laws that say any contract should be put up for public consideration, be it bidding or hearing. As hubby says, though, such things are more honored in the breach than in the observance, and lawyers look for loopholes where they can find them._._._**Waiting at the cardiologistSleepy now, having been up since five to open the kitchen. Ramon and I left the house at 7.30 and found ourselves a nice parking place near Makati Med's back door. Breakfast at the cafeteria next, a whale of a lot cheaper than Floating (where we bought the morning paper, the latest Philippine Tatler, and Condo Living) and just as good. Ramon declares himself satisfied with the quality and that's what matters most.A brief stop at the dietary department and the discovery that Ramon's dietician is on maternity leave. We were given a diet plan to follow to avoid another gastritis attack, and Ramon will study this at leisure.Up to the doctor's office by 9.00. have finished skimming the papers and the Tatler, which has Isabella Preysler on the cover. _._._At this point we were called into the doctor's office, with the results mentioned above. Seeing as sleep is catching up with me, I'll just give you the bare essentials of the rest of the day:** Lunch was had at the Glorietta 4 Food Court - our favorite food stall, Mr. Wok. Good food, decent servings, reasonable prices.** Mercury Drug, to refill Ramon's prescriptions.
** Bridges (aka Goodwill) Bookstore, to photocopy PhilHealth requirements.
** Starbucks, for coffee and to poke through Make Room.** David's SM Makati, to get a massage and have my hair tidied up. I now sport straight bangs, like I always wanted, which softens my wide forehead.** SM Department Store, to use the washroom and buy a plastic container for our stash of fastfood paper napkins.
** Astrovision, where I didn't find "Up Close and Personal", but did walk out with "A Good Year."** Besa's Santuario, where I discovered Ma's shoes wouldn't be ready till tomorrow. The nice lady called the house, but Dad didn't forward the message.** The ATM machine, to check my balance and get some cash.
** Rustan's, to pick up a roast chicken for dinner, and a few other things._._._Got home, organized some things, and as soon as life gets back to normal on Monday, laundry and the posting of receipts shall be among the important things of the day.^__^
