Watching the Emmys - 1
I'm going to do something I haven't done since forever...running commentary. Woke up at 8.30, and proceeded to put breakfast on hold while watching the Emmys. Missed some of the early awards, and got into the swing of things by squeeing with every mention of Colbert and Stewart and their respective shows.
So without further ado:
* Keifer Sutherland comes on and Ma asks who he is. I tell her it's Donald's baby boy and she goes, "Oooh, he's cute!" ::loves on Mama::
* Queen Latifah and the "Roots" cast, whoa.
* Neal Patrick Harris is looking down the dress of his co-presentor. Not that he has much choice, the neckline leaves nothing to the imagination.
* Sopranos picking up awards all over the place, it seems. This is the second one in as many minutes.
* Yes, by all means make sure Tony Bennett's show gets all the awards it can - the man is a musical legend and deserves it before he exits the entertainment scene forever.
* I LOVE YOU JON STEWART! ::grins happily::
* Dear Lord, Marcia Cross' decollete - at least she fills it out nicely.
* Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee picks up another award, following in the footsteps of Broken Trail.
* I *LIKE* these Jersey Boys - they sound like the originals! Whee! ::makes note to self to find album of these darling creatures::
* Ooooh...the entire Sopranos cast onstage. Speaking of which, the layout for this year's awards is really, really cool. Great for the roving cam people, I should think.
* A propos of nothing: I am very sure that if I were invited to walk the red carpet with a nominee, I'd be wanting to wear a terno. The full-on rigodon de honor kind, made of jusi, with calado embroidery, and minimal beading. Butterfly sleeves. ::smiles to self:: Just saying.
