Tappity-tap-tap-tap

Roast chicken and pork belly for dinner - and Ramon was feeling well enough to take a stab at the roast chicken and lots of rice. ::bounce:: He now eyes all food with deep suspicion, the poor dear, but his first words to me when I came home from church tonight were: "I want beef stroganoff with asparagus tips, a glass of red wine, and coffee with creme brulee for dessert."

::loves on hubby::

Am reviewing the last of the magazines that have been sitting on my coffee table for months now. Was able to pack away one of them, and I have about five more to go. It's easy enough when you skip the ads and get down to the articles.

Thanks to my love for Anderson Cooper, I am rediscovering why I enjoyed watching CNN so much when cable TV first started carrying it. I remember when people like Bernard Shaw, Mike Chinoy, Frank Sesno, Richard Roth and Brent Sadler were the faces of the news. Christiane Amanpour and Nic Robertson were the new kids on the block back when I started watching, hoyay.

The breaking story now is the budget airliner crash in Phuket, Thailand. The plane appears to have broken in half while attempting to abort a landing in rough weather, and a witness claims there may have been fire in the cabin before the plane touched down. Tsk!

I saw an ad for Business Traveller, but I think the breaking news has swept it under the rug once again. World Report got stomped on by the incoming new information, so...I do not hold much hope of seeing Richard Quest any time soon. Meh.

Times like these, I miss my days as a radio newsreader. Not the petty office intrigues, or the unnecessary stress visited upon we minions in putting together an event - I miss being able to go on board, re-writing the news from newspaper to broadcast format. Making commercials and time check breaks. Best time of my entire working life. ::cue nostalgia::

Got a few more ideas for my fic-in-pieces, so once I decide to finish distracting myself, the keyboard will be making the happy tap-tap-tappity-tap music. ::grin::

So another quiet day. Tomorrow will not be as manic a Monday as I feared, which means I can still catch the live telecast of the Emmys. ::crosses fingers:: Of course, one never really knows. It's rather like breaking news around here, sometimes. ::grin::

Hope everyone's favorites win at the Primetime Emmys, though. Catch you all whenever!
