O HAI, I SPY

What is going *on* in the sports world? There are no less than three "spy scandals" running about on the news at the moment:

* Formula One racing: Ferrari specs leaked to McLaren, resulting in committee hearing and humongous fine for McLaren, which is contesting the ruling

* NFL: Patriots coach accused of videotaping signals of opposing team (but if he'd just stood there and committed said signals to memory it would have been okay?)

* Women's Soccer World Cup: Manager of Denmark team catches two guys filming meeting via two-way mirror, before game against host China

My AC360 fix this morning had all the fizz of flat champagne. To be expected, since the gang is headed home to New York (or Atlanta, or Washington) and it was basically the previous reports tied-in with extra footage with AC and Michael Ware. The second hour was a replay of "Anvil of God", at which point CNN International took over.

The discussion on the live thread threw a bit of a shadow on my fresh-new fangirling of the program, but as they say, it's not over till the fat lady sings. Am hoping CNN management and those in charge of programming do right by Anderson, is all. He's a good reporter and I'm looking forward to the "Planet in Peril" special this coming October, as well as "Narco State: The Poppy Jihad" at the end of the month.

Burned off another huge batch of files from the external drive, and so have room for the next collection. ::grin::

Seeing as I seem to be all caught up with online activities, I really should kick back tomorrow and do some reading, so that the magazines that have been piling up can be boxed and ready for charity. ::nods::

My little drabble-into-fic has been partitioned from a single document into six separate documents. In the interests of keeping the characters honest, to borrow the AC360 tag line - I started researching just exactly what it is my heroine does. Which jolly well sidetracked me nine ways to Sunday, until I decided what it is that she does. So the keyboard is making that tappity-tap-tap music that comes when inspiration strikes.

Someday I'll clean it all up, and change names in order to avoid lawsuits and such. ::grin:: Whee! Such fun to be writing for fun again.

So far, so good. Off to watch Larry King replay now. Seacrest is hosting the Emmys - that should be an interesting thing to see!

The thing about Pats coach Belicheck is that the league had warned him about the videotaping before the season began and he went ahead and did it anyway. Kinda puts a taint on their Super Bowl victories in the past few years. Could they have went to the playoffs without cheating?

Ahhh, that explains the fuss. He obviously thought he wouldn't get caught!

The doubt now hanging over the Patriots isn't going to them much good. Too bad for the players, I think.
